Problem is that whatever "scary" monster design they could have come up with would have been immediately undermined and undone by the writing. If your're already going for the SyFy/direct-to-DVD creature feature shlock route, why not drop all the pretences and go balls to the wall?

Because survival horror games should at least look scary, story quality be damned. Why is that so hard to understand?

I just pay attention to whatever they show like SE and Capcom's, but I don't expect much from Nintendo's either aside from Smash Spregs being either happy who is in DLC or a bunch of spam posts on GameFAQs bitching that Sora/Crash/Master Chief/Waluji's left shoe isn't the last characters.

Because monsters and a goofy SyFy plots are not scary to begin with if you're older than 12, thus making angsting over character designs a moot point. But that's just my personal attitude to the whole genre.

I'm guessing Ninty will probably show a Prime 4 or Trilogy Switch trailer to placate plebs like me. Other than that I'm expecting a lot of fluff, and lots of Dieverse creatures being paraded around, the kind the Japanese would shoot on sight in their own lands as ONI. Once the true negative effects of these forced coof lockdowns are brought to bear on the industry, I expect games for the foreseeable future to be extra fucked. Disproportionate quality assurance issues, production delays, destroyed supply chains etc. Many are beginning to tighten their financial belts, even CONSOOMERS will be struggling to support their bloated gaming hydra by this time next year.

Well a Monkey Ball remake that’s supposed to be in the direct leaked, so it’s already in the top half of the conferences so far.
