I think there's still cool shit that could be done with capeshit games. Planet Hulk would be a fun premise, Lobo Space Biker Road Rash/Beat em Up combo, Captain America WW2 FPS, turn based Fantastsic Four RPG, etc.

Which is why you make it like a T-rated Wolfenstein. Disney won't let anything be M-rated, but you can still have over the top villains, snappy one liners, and lots of superhero-on-hydrabot violence. I mean, realistically a Captain America FPS would be as bloody and brutal as the new Doom games, complete with GLORY FREEDOM KILLS as you rip off a Nazi's jawbone and then shove the ends through his eye sockets or cut them in half with shield throws, but we all know there's no such things as nice things in this existence.

I reckon if it was done well a T-rated Wolfenstein kinda deal with Captain America could work. I know Simpsons Hit and Run is pretty fondly remembered and that game was basically just a family friendly pg clean version of Grand Theft Auto.

1. Souls-lite? That'd be like calling Bayonetta a DMC-lite.
2. No, it was slated to release on all last-gen consoles before being delayed into the current gen. Xbox just has an exclusive promotional agreement. That may have expired since though.

12 is supposed to be running on UE5 which means it's still very early in development. They may show off artwork, but I'd be surprised if we got like a full minute of new trailer footage.

Though a cap themed FPS would focus on melee combat I think, but Xeno Clash and Breakdown are too old and niche to be used as inspiration. Ditto for Urban Chaos' shield based gameplay. They also aren't easy to fill with micro transactions.

If a cap themed FPS is real, then I'm going to guess it's either a multiplayer game with heroes like Star Wars Battlefront, or it's going to be a VR or motion control game.
