Yep, There's a black voices of gaming thing and let me tell ya. those games either look like tommy's third flash game or unreal engine rips. Anew looks interesting along with this asteroids looking game but everything else looks kinda dumb. Mind you I skimmed it so I didn't see it all but I did see Validate on there.

Remember when E3 was the coolest thing on Earth? Pepperidge Farm remembers.
E3 was only cool when it had some mystique about it because it was only available to the "industry" and the only way I got info about it was from magazines.

The second I started seeing livestreams of the show floor, it seemed like everything went to shit. I assume this is because they started wasting all their time and money on the spectacle instead of just showing off the games.

It can still be an entertaining trainwreck, of course. But even that seems to have gotten weaker in the past couple years with Game Awards replacing it.

I would love to attend E3 2003, I would say that was it's peak year, for me early to 2000s era E3 has the same mystique as a 1920s "Great Gatsby" ball as seen in The Shining.

Imagine a spooky, empty hallway where a ghostly sounding "Hey Ya" by Outkast is playing, on the wall is a photograph of a group at E3 2003, among them is a smiling figure with an uncanny resemblance to Jack Nicholson...

Yeah, well. We had all the time in the world to look forward to back then.
If we only knew how fast the time would go by.

My expectations are the lowest with Covid impacting development, but it would be a nice surprise if something I like gets announced.

It's online only, like everything else these days, and that means it's going to be woke, shit, and woke as shit, like everything else these days.

Like every year, I'll get together with some friends, get some chips and soda, and shit on the entire thing. Second best time to do so apart from the Game Awards. Not like I have anything else going on in my life lately.

E3 lost a lot of its relevance when companies discovered what social media was. Just announce content when it’s ready instead of relying on the gaming Super Bowl.

E3 2003? What about something earlier. E3 '95

Or what about before E3, CES (Consumer Electronic Show)
CES '91

Besides the Nintendo Direct and maybe some unexpected PC ports, there isn't much I'm looking forward to the E3 event.

There was a post someone made in the Nintendo fandom thread where they compared a western indie direct to a japanese indie direct. One is mostly interviews and talking heads, the other showing fun gameplay. Scrubbing through the presentation, I'm reminded of the former.
That was me. I can repost the videos for anyone who is interested to see the comparison too

The main japanese directs can also show games exclusive to the region. One game that did catch my interest from the February Direct was Crayon Shin-chan, a licensed game developed by the same devs who worked with SIE Japan in the past with My Summer Holidays on PS1, PS2 and PSP (which I play at least once a year). It's the kind of cozy simulation game I like.

If they were smart we would get P3 and P4 remastered but because of the VA allegations we can kiss that goodbye. Or they would just recast with that Zach Aguilar which.......no thanks. I imagine Beyond Good and Evil 2 is dead. Shame because the early trailers I barely remember Jade in them.

I would love to see Ace Attorney Investigations collection. Please.....Crapcom....oniisama......onegai

I just find out what's being released from convos with my friends. I have 0 interest in these streams.

Fuck the hype train. No one in their right mind gives a shit anymore. Whatever is newsworthy, I'll grab it from the mess of E3 afterwards.
