I'll start:

I stayed up all night last night for no good reason, knowing that I had a busy day at work and have to pick someone up at the airport late tonight.

It made sense at the time.

Until about 8 am. I've had 3 espressos and 2 adderall over the day, and I nearly broke my neck going down the stairs my house in high-heeled boots after work because apparently I'm clumsy after 37 or so hours without sleep.

Other than that, great day.

Sub-sub-title: Help Dorothy stay awake and not crash later

I dropped my knife into the dish washer before I had finished making my sandwich, so I had to get another knife.

Broke my favorite teacup dropping something on it (:_(
I've had a few people give suggestions on how to fix it so that makes me feel better. It's a very clean break so food-safe glue (and maybe gold dust if I want to go the Kintsugi route) could do the trick.

I measured the sheet metal wrong, had to smoke 2 cigs on my break

Well I loaded up Kiwi Farms, that was kind of dumb.
Other than that it's been a pretty smart day. I guess we'll see if eating raw salmon is a bad idea if it leads to food poisoning. I'm not sure if you're supposed to get special sushi grade fish or what but I haven't in the past and food born illness is pretty much a myth anyways so.

Isn't this basically what the how are you doing thread is for though? That's a good thread.

PS: Going for 2 days on nothing but caffeine and adderall sounds like a recipe for a panic attack.

Your mom. She's pretty retarded.
And probably making this post but I'm not sure.
My mom is 80 years old and happily married for almost 60 years. That was my brother.

Been there! I broke a plate the other day from an irreplaceable set that I bought on my honeymoon 25+ years ago (those dishes > that husband). I hope you can fix it!

Let us know if you die. :)

I'm a regular there. Look for the long comments. :-/

And no, this is a potentially less serious survey of personal fails in a day.

Oh, I've eaten (chicken tortilla soup, which on no sleep made me so sleepy I felt like I would keel over in my chair at work, but I had to lead a big call so I woke up...so add a small pop of adrenalin to the mix). And happily, I'm in a great mood, nearly breaking a body part just trying walk in my house aside. I have on flat shoes now, because I'm dumb but not stupid.

I've done an interval run with some hardcore sprinting on wet cement and with a gluteus muscle badly fucked up (cause I neglected strength training and was lazy with squats), so now I will likely aggravate my injury which is already pretty bad, I can barely walk without severe pain until I warm up well.
I also responded to some local tards.
Then again, I make that mistake every day so nothing special.

I didn't finish the job.

I would have felt better to finish it out myself.
But did it get finished?

I assume you mean wet cement as in "rained on," not wet cement as in "freshly poured."

The kettle lid closed while I was filling it with water. I was not paying attention. Almost 0.5L of drinking water fell on the floor. Oh, no.
In any case, it was a perfect opportunity to clean the floor.

Once a number of years ago I was in a really bad state - everything had blown apart, me with it, and I was brittle and weird. But the day I (once again) accidentally spilled a dog-dish's worth of water all over the counter (which was cluttered and very neglected at that time) and, instead of either cursing myself for a solid 30 seconds or crying like a fool and berating myself as worthless (I was down bad), I realized I couldn't mop up the water with everything in the way so I filled the dishwasher, dried the papers, and cleaned and shined the counter (then did 2 more dishwasher loads bc it was that bad) was a day I thought I might possibly not be lost forever. I actually probably went right back to the sofa after that, but at least I no longer had to relive all my sins every time I wanted to make some coffee. The tiniest baby step, but oddly empowering coming from a totally disempowered state of mind, and it reminded me that I had the power to turn a blow into a win just by seeing and approaching it differently, and that even the most minor of wins are worth appreciating.

Lol this response was meant to be "nice pivot!" not "walk with me down dark and dreary Misery Lane." Sorry about the history trip.

I forgot to eat breakfast before work. I always do dumb shit.

Thread theme song:

Get some energy bars to keep around so you can grab one on the way out the door!

That song goes like this by verse:
:o
:(

But I love the Parliament sample.

I've had to pee for an hour but I just keep sitting here and staring at my computer.
It's been a few hours. Any progress?

As for me, knock wood, I haven't done anything dumb yet today...though the night is still young. I can do it!

Don't worry, I can relate with it. Sometimes hitting the rock bottom with a situation is just what we needed, before putting things back in order. When there is no realistic option left but to roll up our sleeves and get on with it.

It's good to get things back on track and invest that time in a kind favor to our future selves. Thanks for sharing this inspiration with us.

I was up until 4 a.m. this week knowing very well that I promised to not do that, since it was one of the reasons why I was sick for almost a few weeks just a couple of months ago in the last year
