I'm not speaking on actual plagiarism involving actual ideas/patents, but the more frequent case of lolcows and lolcow-adjacent people making videos compiling events/drama and getting accused of plagiarism for various reasons. Personally I don't see it as anything close to plagiarism as the people involved just cite objective facts without creating anything, and accusation of copying are nebulous when people use the same sources, and usually present in a chronological order.

An example of such a case is Internet Historian doing a video on a man getting stuck in a cave. This had accusation of Plagiarism by a journo resulting in a big controversy that didn't really change anything besides giving the Twitter crowd a punching bag for a month.

Anyways discuss if you think that compiling facts is something that can be plagiarized, or specific cases that you find interesting/funny.

Ngl I really liked that video and how tf do you plagiarise history???? It's HISTORY. even if he did rip text from a book he still used animations and humor to transform the content.
