The 40th anniversary is on the 29th. Yuji Horii hinted on a podcast recently that they might be announcing DQXII and a couple other things.
I'm guessing DQ12 trailer / gameplay
DQM3 expansion or new DQM game
Perhaps another mobile game
And a remake of one of the other games, perhaps DQ 4-6 or DQ9.
DQ12 was already announced but besides it supposedly being grimdark we don't know much about it. There's talk about redoing the combat system and there's a steady worry that they're gonna turn it into an action game like FF has done. We'll see.
DQM3 was basically unfinished -- the online gameplay is sparse as hell compared to the older games in the series, you can't even create the last bosses in the game for your party, and the postgame story just kinda... ends. DQMJ2 and DQMJ3 both had expansion re-releases called the Professional editions that expanded the online gameplay, added live services like content, doubled the storyline length, et cetera. Plus I guess DQM is getting mentioned a lot as they lead up to this event, and one of the DQ Youtubers says DQM3 outsold their expectations so, yeah. Has people thinking DQM3 is getting an expansion, or they're about to release a Joker 4.
Mobile game just came out for DQ, but IIRC it's the only one active right now. The eraser game I think ended already, and IIRC DQ Stars ended in Japan too? I think they want more than 1 running at a given time, so, we might see something. Heck maybe DQStars will get a single player offline remake like Octopath Traveler 0.
And of course with the recent HD2D remakes going over really well it has everyone thinking DQ4-6 remake is a matter of when not if. A lot keep suggesting DQ9 as well, since it has never been remade, it's art style is close to HD2D already, it basically reuses the DQ3 engine, and they recently used it's storyline heavily in DQX (I guess the last expansion or two has you going to the DQ9 world).
