In the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament Chiaotzu and Tien were supposed to be master KI users who had a ton of devestating techniques under their belts. It's easy to forget how destructive something like the Dodon Wave was portrayed back then. To me they came across as more "serious" students in contrast to the Turtle School ragamuffuns. Of course all of that immediately became irrelevant once the arc was over as is Dragon Ball tradition.
To me they were cheaters. Or at the very least "tricksters". They could fly. Blind you. Paralyze you. Had telekinesis. Could duplicate themselves and grow new limbs.
At least wait for the gameplay preview before you allow yourself to be suckered into the hype train. I'm still fearing that we're gonna get hit with the "Well, we had to cut most of the roster, but don't worry, they'll all be good DLC fodder."
Maybe tricksters but Tien did get pissed off when the Crane Hermit made Chiaotzu paralyze Goku so I'd at least hesitate to call Tien a cheater. He even let Goku land some free blows as an apology. There seems to be some vague warrior code of ethics Tien followed at least.
Owing to Dragon Ball’s heavy Wuxia influence, they’re treated as the logical conclusion of their more advanced martial arts.
That's even better. Have him try to kaioken x2 and do x20 by accident and become a glass cannon.
