In seriousness, the John Denver joke will get old for me quickly, I'd like to make the case for calling it "taking the liberty" in honor of my favorite Hitchcock movie that was not made by Alfred Hitchcock, Stanley Donen's 1963 classic starring Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant- "Charade."

I take the liberty of calling a lot of dentists, as it were. That is, I look at easily accessible information and I cross-reference it with other legally obtainable, easily accessible information to try to make a more complete picture. Therefore I intend to make this fetch happen and will exhaust every effort to ascertain that it catches on. Once I get tired of annoying the people around me by singing "sunshine on my shoulders" I will change my custom title, formerly "doxhund" to "liberty taker."

If you don't want to go funny and original, the most neutral and inoffensive word for a collection of obscure public information on a specific individual is "file". The drawback is obvious (that's already a word! I know, rigtt?) BUT seems to not matter that much in the context of cow discussion.

Archive is already used a lot to mean a specific action (saving currently public, possibly highly prominent, info to proof against deletion). The operative distinction is very few people can doxxxx well, but everyone should archive.

Deanonymization and derivatives don't quite work because the nastiest cows go by their legal names, and there are collations of info on them, too.

Thinking to moonspeak, a troll (in boomerspeak English) is a "fisher". But fishing is a crime, this won't do. A pileon is a "festival". Doxxxxxxing is "bleaching", which has the wrong connotation in English.
