I would like to show off my special retards. Tabby showed up on my porch summer ‘22 with no chip, clearly dumped. Set up appointments for spaying/shots etc and then she Trojan Horsed me and gave birth to five more kittens, exactly 2 months after showing up- she was maybe 3-4 days pregnant upon arrival. My sibling took a kitten, coworker took one, and the other two were adopted as a pair through a shelter I volunteer for; we kept the firstborn and god is he stupid. His mom is a great hunter but he’s a totally helpless jelly donut of a boy. I let our niece name them, so behold: Bean and Sprout. Bean in a onesie because she would not close down the milk bar and it was basically the equivalent of breast feeding a second grader all I ever wanted was for the cat distribution system to finally decide it was my turn, and I got it in spades!

Ok, frens,. This may be a little off topic but I’ll try my best because I found a cat product that absolutely made my year! Is it a joke? I dunno. It strikes me as ….I don’t even know. Nuts.

So I, being the slave of a picky, long haired cat who has occasional problems with having very fluffy trousers……which get a bit….gross. Right! I’m not paying a groomer. I’m doing this myself because she’s so easy and laid back……..so I buy THIS:

Fancy Cat Shampoo. Bigs itself up as ‘so great for your cat’. Cuddle ready. No nasties. Leaves cat beautiful, clean and silky.

How do you know it makes my cat clean and silky?

Never Tested on Animals. It’s a cat shampoo! What do they think I’m going to do with it? Please test your products if you’re going to make fancy claims about how beautiful and strawberry scented it’s going to leave your CAT!

Am I missing something. I know they probably mean that they’re not routinely rubbing the stuff into hamsters eyes or something. But then say that. Never cruelly tested in lab…..or something. Never tested on animals just sounds like a joke.

I would call and ask them "How do you know it works if you never tested it on a cat? Why should MY cat be the test subject?"

Their web page is concerning.
It is full of dog pics and talks about dogs.
There is one little blurb on the cat shampoo and they say you can use their dog shampoo on cats because their skin has the same pH.

It would seem feline care is a sideline to them.

Working from home again. Hotdog here keeps me company all day.

One of my cats, Hotdog, the silver/gray tabby, died today.

A relative of mine took her in as a stray and ended up giving her to me. My relative is a dog person.

We don't know how old she was. I think she was a few years old in 2016.

I had her since then. More or less every night I'd blaze up and curl up on the couch with her and watch tv. It's been my nightly ritual for going on seven years now. I'm going to miss her a lot.

Cherish your furry friends, they don't last forever.

This is Millie. When she was around 4 months old I almost lost her to a kidney ailment that she has since made a full miraculous recover from, that was more than a year ago. She is very sweet but might be a little on the crazy side. She likes to wake me up early in the morning by biting my feet
