Zinc anodes are literal throw away items.
A full set for that floating turd might have cost $100.
Of all the things to gamble on backyard chemistry with.

Every part of the Seeker, in isolation, is a really cool project. A challenge to see if you can do something. Can I cast my own propeller? Can I use a schoolbus motor in a boat? Will PEX work with diesel?
No reasonable person would think that each of these would succeed, or that the result would be suitable for daily use. It would be neat to figure out how to make an anode, but to think you could make one on the first try is why he has a thread.
