Not that we need more proof of how retarded and stupid most people on Doomworld are, but here we go again... Why the hell is this CP still getting new submissions, when the project "leader" announced months ago that he's not up for the task of completing it? Not only is he not updating the thread, he's not playtesting or providing any feedback to the mappers. If you make a map for a project like this, what will these signs going to tell you? It's a complete disaster.


The OP was last update January 5th, and that idiotic noob Raith has gone on to work on his own shitty solo project, which by the way, he tried to lure other people to work for it, and turn it into yet another failed CP, but this time got slapped on the wrist. Unfortunately, the idiots who are involved with the 30 sectors shit, couldn't get the memo and still believe that Raith is close to releasing the megawad. Even an outsider can tell this thing is doomed to fail... unless that ass-kisser TroonGappy don't come out on his white, moderator sucking, dildo shaped horse to save it. I'm sure he can find the time in his daily 20 hour Doomworld schedule.
 
Not gonna lie but reading this thread in automated Russian translation is both a blessing and a curse. I just have to let you know that because:
1) My phone got broke. So I have to use the one I've got from my relative and instead of Brave there's fuckin' Yandex of all chromium shite.
2) I do a little autism, er, I mean a level for another RDC community project take.

Been going through Doomer Boards Project recently & I gotta say that I'm having so much more fun than with anything Doomworld has made in the past few years. Every project has its soul & looks unique in some way, the length is just near perfection, no Icon of Sin garbage & it's just pure fun. Sure, it has some stinkers here & there but nothing rage-inducing.

My speculation is that DBPs aren't brain-rotted about ego, Cacowards, self-importance etc etc... These maps are made out of pure passion. Looking forward to try out the rest!

Definitelly, i was reading some of the DBP development threads recently and you can tell these projects are about collaboration and teamwork, and that's why they feel so tightly put together, like they were made by one mapper and not a group... there is consistency is what i'm saying. They have a good standard set in place and they're sticking to it, no egos, no self importance, no delusions of grandeur... just good old Doom mapping at its finest.

Too bad the forum itself is a bit of a disaster, full of shitposts and cringy off-topic spam that serves no good. It's funny because 40oz is back now and he tries to reform it... isn't that a joke? Where has he been in the last 7-8 years since he was appointed the admin role? Now he cries how he no longer enjoys logging in, because the forum sucks? Well... it's his fucking fault, he completely dropped the ball right from the get go. Imagine if he actually bothered to moderate, what he could've done in the near decade he's been an admin... DB might have been a lot bigger and respected than it is now.
 
The thing about DBPs is that participating mappers (except one troon who its thelokk) do stuff not for recognition but because they can. They have an interest in making something that, although made by different people would feel natural and a whole, to be an experience in good fashion. Unlike almost everything that comes from doomworld these days all due to the fact that most of "creators" are chasing the clout, trannies' and kulkidzklub' recognition, be "their guys" etc.
They don't have interest in actual artistic and modding value, no. They want to drop a pretentious piece of shit in order to fit right in.
That was like that for a while.

Eveer since Kontra created the forum it was a refuge camp for those deemed unworthy and problematic by dw troon clique, quie ironically half of active residents do keep to handle this stugma given by doomworld further. Not out of spite but more than likely because this way the unwanted elements are being disgusted to join or participate in any way possible. Speaking of, in all the time passed I realized the right decision by 40z to ban joy-chmonya back then. Who'd knew doomkid's personal dicksucking faggot kyke would be a dicksucking faggot kyke.

Jokes aside what 40oz propose is within itself is what Post Hell was purposed for but because Kontra made a whole ass forum for outcasted members of the community troons got rid of it.

After reading that thread I can see why 40oz wants to create a cuck cage version of the forum for shitposters. DB is a fucking dumpster fire where random retards shitpost all the time and then there's a small number of people who actually create maps and it feels like DBP development threads and off-topic threads are like two different worlds. On one hand you have unmoderated mess of people arguing for retarded reasons and overall being insufferable cunts. And on the other there's DBP/mapping threads where people concentrate on perfecting their craft and help each other by sharing some cool mapping tricks and playtesting each other's maps. Don't get me wrong, I like jokes about niggers and trannies as the next guy but it does get stale after awhile and this is why places like 4chan and KF exist. I mean, I don't want DB to become soy-riddled fag-friendly shithole, but more moderation certainly wouldn't hurt.

@Übermensch Doom Cuck I'm curious, which DBPs have you played? Most of the ones I was playing were recent, but I did check out some of the older ones (DBP01, 34 and 37) and so far I liked all of them. Usually every entry has one or two mediocre maps, but they're never horrible and despite that all of the DBPs I've played are pretty damn solid. DBP37 and DBP59 are my favorites.

I myself moderate a few places in my spare time, thankfully I'm not alone and these places are rather chill and mainly silent. Except one server because it just happens so that most of my lads from community are there. And yet I have to spank 'em too, period.

Tbh I'm not sure what's the best way to go about it. But there's too much needless spam and retardation on Doomer Boards. Maybe giving temp bans to persistent shitposters or something similar. My main concern is that 40oz mostly talks about hurting feefees of troons and other degenerates so he might actually make the forum cancer-friendly.

If given the chance, i'd say this to 40oz - restrict shitposting, and off-topic spam. Remove all threads related to Troonworld. Give proper warnings to the cunts who act immature all the time, suspend them for a period of time if you have to. Stop posting DBPs on Troonworld! Have some self-respect, make the people who like the projects come to your site to download them, instead of getting them from the forum that pretends you don't exist and will never give you the credit you deserve (example: Zeppelin Armada at the Cacowards). That's how i see it.

Now to get back to the main issue - the spam and shitposting. There are a few people there who post all sorts of cringy, convoluted, immature, nonsensical shit 24/7, across all sections... anything but talk about Doom related stuff. What's the point of useless weirdos like this in a Doom forum? All they do is repel people from registering... people who might actually see what we see and dislike the environment on Troonworld, and just look for a forum that is solely focused on the games. Well DB is not that, outside the DBP development section, the forum is a shithole and 40oz is the one to blame for that. Kontra might be the one who made it like that in the first place, but 40oz had 7-8 years to change it, and did absolutely nothing. Now he comes out of nowhere with a ridiculous idea that won't solve anything, which is basically to keep all the shitposting and give it its own forum section, thinking that this will make the forum more pleasant to the outside eyes. No! The damage is done, it will take years to build a good reputation, and only if you take proper measures, like the ones i'm suggesting here. Even that might not be enough. The spam and immature behavior has to go for good, not give it its own subforum to thrive.

Again, depending on how you happen to maintain it. One thing is to keep a whole ass subforum in wide open for everyone to see the irrevelance and shitposting galore, the other is maknig it exclusive to ones who are the in-40oz-mind troublemakers. It's not a complex science, you just have to read the room proper and realise your efforts to make place sterilized like doomworld would only fail because the soul of this forum would be killed step-by-step. For the better or worst but shitposting on DB have become the very part of that soul, the only proper way to get this part of the soul reason to exist but not bother whiny cunts' feefees is to just make it visible for specific posters and let 'em do whatever here. Otherwise 40oz just lose what essentially left from the userbase in a span of, at best, one year.
I wrote what can be done in the thread, but something tells me he wont listen since I'm the part of those "problematic" users he's so unfond of.

I've played pretty much all of them from the start up till DBP 32 so far.
My favorites are: 9, 13, 16, 17, 24, 26, 28, 31 and 32 seems to be a candidate as well.
Least favorites: 15, 20, 25, 23, 29 Not bad projects but kinda boring. Evil Egypt I had high expectations, so it disappointed me the most. Fuck Global Warming was kind of annoying.
Dead but Dreaming was apparently made only for Nightmare! skill level, though it's playable on UV. Didn't like the aesthetics that much.

@IKOL i think Doomer Boards is already dying step by step. The shitposting is not part of its soul, it's the reason for its slow demise. At least that's what i think. Even if you look at the history, it seems the forum was a bit bigger and more active at some point. So why the decline? Because no one wants to register, that's why. Meanwhile, old users become absent with time, because no one sticks forever and that's normal, especially in an old community like Doom. The point is, in order for Doomer Boards to thrive, it needs fresh blood, and by that i mean, an abundance of it, not just the handful of people who get the banana from Troonworld and have nowhere else to go. And by the way, how many of the banned Troonworld users in the last 2-3 years even stick around on DB? The forum can't even hold them for a while. Sure, they might register, but they're not active users and don't participate in anything. As for the users who stick around, and could provide interesting content and posts to readers, they mainly hang in the DBP development threads, while the rest of the forum is a barren wasteland where a handful of shit posters run wild, and when they're not active, most of the sections sit with no activity, sometimes for days. Is this the soul of the forum you're talking about? You can't honestly believe DB has a bright future in its current state.
 
Thank you for this post @Zacharin X. I wanted to say exactly this, but couldn't find the right words. Imo 'soul' of the Doomer Boards is DBPs and I think it's safe to assume anyone who's into Doom mapping and modding heard about DBPs at least once and there's a lot of people who regularly play new DBPs when they come out and at the same time give zero shits about the forum, not only because it's seen as a nazi, racist, troonphobic, etc site for literally Hitlers by the kulkidzklub but also because when you do register on there, you'll see that there's nothing interesting going on outside of the DBP threads. If 40oz doesn't grow some balls and starts using the banhammer, Doomer Boards is destined to fade into obscurity.
