I just played it. Its pretty awesome and should hold up to what Gamergate is about.

You see the villian in it... is a chick trying to drill into hell to summon demons.

Obviously, Id Software is on board with our quest to ELIMINATE all feminst BULLFUCK from vidya. Good on you, Id Software, good on you!

Does DOOM 4 still have the giant female mother spider of classic DOOM in it? The spider demon always makes me feel strange when she perforates me with gatling gun projectiles like Zoe Quinn with restraining orders. The spider demon is basically like Zoe if Zoe had a super gatling gun.

Yes. Chick in the beginning turns into a spiderdemon. Its quite horrifying, as she turns inside out from her... :cryblood:

only reason it's being loved is because of the name Doom and because apperantly LOOK AT THE BLOOD is what doom is to fucking casuals.
The rail gun style weapon has a really annoying high pitched soundeffect that makes it unpleasant to use, carrying more shotgun ammo is an upgrade
when you get the shotgun you can only carry 20 shells when in the original you could carry up to 100, enemies are fucking bullet sponges and you are pretty much forced to do the takedowns which goes against the doom philosophy, the pistol has infinite ammo and it's more pew pew sounding than the Quake 2 blaster and Half Life 2's USP Match, which makes it one of the weakest pistols in gaming yet.
did I mention the first part of the game forces you to rely on takedowns?

where the gun obscures 50% of the screen
the final boss is the spider mastermind and it's a bullet sponge mixed with stage hazards
they tease a sequel or a new dlc at the end of the game


They didn't even include a shareware system of the game as a nod to the first doom, it's not easily modabble as the original dooms and it's most likely going to need a decent computer just to play when the original doom can be ported to almost anything.
 
Of all your complaints, the only one that holds any note is the no-modding stance. No bethesda, your crappy tileset basher does not subsitute for an SDK.

The pistol in Doom was shit (only good against zombiemen because they have 20 health), ammo conservation only becomes important for higher weapons starting in the middle of the game, and enemies WERE bullet sponges in doom 1/2

The first games were not as ACTION PAKED!1 as many people believe they were. 3s slow pacing actually fit for its rebooted atmosphere, believe it or not. Finally, Doom 1 also teased a sequel/DLC at the end of it.

(Well, episode 4 wasn't DLC but it was expanded content. Same thing, you just didn't dowload it and had to ... Rebuy the game from retail!)

Takedowns in Doom 4 seem like they saw Brutal Doom doing it and decided to incorporate it, jerky animations and all.
