Don't show old threads in "Similar threads" - Only @You can prevent necros
Pretty simple. At the bottom of each thread there's a "similar threads" section and it would be better if it only showed threads where the most recent post is less than N time old, like a few weeks or months. The current way encourages dumbass newbies to stumble on years dead threads and necro them with their stupid im gay posts. Posts of actual substance, posts that would restart old threads don't happen on accident and would basically be unaffected.

ah, the wonders of forums. truly the best discussion medium.
I quite like the fact that old threads show up in the "similar" category since it prevents them from being entirely forgotten. There's also the hope that they will discourage the creation of pointless new threads which simply rehash old topics, of which there have been many.
