and that’s the number one issue with the Trump presidency, you can tout about how many Hispanics you are deporting or how much tariffs you are raising to try to get companies to build factories in America (they will just raise the price on consumer goods anyway and it’s not like Congress will willingly pass a law to stop that either) at the end of the day, people at the end of the day need money to participate in the economy, you can’t simultaneously complain about the welfare state and also do nothing to force the creation of jobs, people see right through that bullshit, Republicans will complain about younger voters voting against them but Gen Z outside of a few mentally retarded women on TikTok are not Communists, they just demand basic guaranteed rights in order to participate in a market economy (which would actually be beneficial to many of these executives due to more people being able to buy things) but no retardation has to be the ideology of this decade i guess

They’re closer to the subprime lending market in the 2000s than they are to some kind of new technocratic feudal barons.
The vast majority of the problematic landlords are “mom and pops” who own between 2 and 1000 rentals. They have narrow profit margins. Many of them got into it because they had high paying real jobs like doctors, lawyers, high-paid engineers, etc. They have to pay properly management firms to do the landlording shit, and that cuts deeper into the margins. They’re not as rich as you’d think, and in a few years when total boomer death starts, they will discover that they in fact did not discover an infinite money glitch.
You know who was a landlord and fucked it up? Trump.
