Yep just a reminder that the Trump administration attempted a coup in Venezuela back in 2019. His puppet, Juan Guaido, didn’t get any kind of popular support from Venezuelans whatsoever. He eventually left and is now living in Florida. Guaido didn’t even have to flee, he was so ineffective as a leader that he came and went from Venezuela as he pleased.

The Republicans, as a party, are not amazing campaign planners. The polls you mentioned, showing that the electorate as a whole hated Trump, could have easily been used by an actually competent PR department to help Jeb! stay on top, but they were stuck on this idea of winning over a non-existent demographic of Right-leaning Democrats more conservative than Left-leaning Republicans. Outside of West Virginia, that's a null set, and it's a dying demographic there as they age out of political life and into skilled nursing. As a party, Republicans have been marginally better or worse at campaigning than Democrats since at least the 2000 election, because that's all that they've needed to be. Trump's victory in the 2015-2016 midterm is evidence of that, because he's actually a pretty awful planner by any reasonable standard, but he hit the party's preferred candidates like a cannoball at close range.

I don't know what he said, but I think he's right in the sense that "free speech" is incompatible with democracy.
If voters cannot form an accurate view of the world because all information sources are hopelessly polluted with mis-, dis-, and malinformation (the wet dream of people like Musk, Miller and Vance), part of it directed by foreign governments that are actively working on dismantling your society through cognitive warfare, voting becomes meaningless.
Election campaigns turn into information warfare campaigns, and the winner is the one who can deceive the greatest number of people into voting for them. At least until enough people support the implementation of a dictatorship, because all the blue checkmarks in their feed are saying that will solve all issues.
Speech needs to be regulated like everything else, and like every other kind of regulation, there will be corrupt influences that need to be constantly restrained, but ultimately society is better of when companies aren't allowed to put whatever ingredients they feel like into food or plastics, and accepts some resulting inefficiencies.
Releasing certain kinds of information would be a scandal in itself and who knows who even knew what exactly was in those files and could talk about it. Rumors would be no different from just making things up, so why even take a risk.

It really is amazing how in a time where it's never been a safer time in history to be a human being, where any and all knowledge is available literally at your finger tips and can be spoon-fed to you at a toddler's reading level, that people still fall into Hegelian dichotomy traps. What I don't get is how Trump's supporters are so emotionally entrenched in him being right/being the god emperor or whatever that even when the evidence is piling up that he's probably a pedophile and did nasty shit in connection to Epstein that they will literally grasp at anything to discredit that. That's not to say that Democrats aren't just as corrupt or don't also have pedophiles in their ranks, but that's such an obvious "no shit" nonstarter that does it really even need to be said? It's like saying "in my opinion" before actually giving your take, it's redundant and a waste of words.
I want to like Trump as a president, I want to believe that every president we elect is competent and capable of serving the role, but when I see him get in bed with the AI people, Palantir, Nvidia, and all these companies actively trying to make my life and other Americans lives more annoying and worse by sucking up every ounce of silicon and dumping them into AI data centers to spy on me and sell my data, not to mention the immense strain these put on our electrical grid, oh and top of it, he might be a pedophile? Is this actually something that people still don’t understand, or is it just a bad-faith argument that miggers use hoping that the people they’re trying to convince don’t know it? I really didn’t start hearing this “well whaddabout Biden though” argument until the Epstein stuff started finally ramping up, and it’s like… were you people in a fucking coma for the last decade, or do you just not know how trials work in this country?
I know I shouldn’t be giving miggers the benefit of the doubt when it comes to their intelligence, but god damn, can these people at least try to keep up?
