I think you guys are underestimating the ability of conservative women to turn the other cheek to all the locker room talk and continue to vote for the people who have even a sliver of a chance of stopping "Clown World" and are more or less in-sync with them on other issues. I think people really are tired of troons and inflation and RvW doesn't hold a candle to either of those issues for them.

Watching the way left wing women ignore the blatant misogyny of trans identified men just about gives me an aneurysm. So I can see a similar thing happening with right wing women, but it doesn't have to be all of them that break, just enough to tip the scales.

Also the GOP had decades to demonize Hillary. They started when she was a First Lady and when it seemed clear she had her own ambitions they ramped it up. I’m no Hillary supporter but the GOP spent years making her unelectable to their base. They never even CONSIDERED that Joe might drop out, which shows how shitty they are at anticipating the oppositions moves and their inability to improvise.

I had no faith Kamala could win, until Joe dropped out, and she is energizing a lot of people.

Kamala's absolutely abysmal performance in the 2020 primaries had me more or less write her off. But I think Trump is about as good of a match up for her as she could hope to get in a general election. And by being VP she has enough inbuilt support from Biden supporters, but she was sidelined so much that she has plausible deniability to distance herself from the more unpopular parts of the Biden administration. So through sheer happenstance someone who logic says should be a terrible presidential candidate has ended up in a position where she might actually be able to go all the way. It's way too early to make confident predictions though, she could very easily squander it.

The poll weighting is odd. It oversamples identified Republicans and Democrats and undersamples independent voters so they're roughly equal thirds.

That distribution made sense 20 years ago but now it's more like 25-50-25.

Biden disappeared for about a month after his last debate with Bernie, and to this day I am convinced it is because he had some sort of health episode. Something like that could be happening again, but if he actually was dead I just don't see the point in hiding it. It's one of those things where the cover up is far riskier than just being honest.

Maybe "as far gone" is a stretch, but it seems a bit absurd to listen to Trump speeches in the past year or so and think he's all there.
