Apropos of nothing, but the reason why Trump said he served fast food for the college football players at the White House was because the visit was during a government shutdown and all the kitchen and wait staff were furloughed at the time. (I mean…fast food, though? Why not cater? DC is full of black people and there are some mean barbecue joints.)

A lot of anti-Trump Republicans have said that Trump will get very angry if Vance generates too much good press and attention from his debate performance, as it will take attention off of Trump. You never upstage the big guy, especially when the big guy is a malignant narcissist. The better Vance does, and the more popular he becomes, the more Trump will actually hate him and sabotage him. In retrospect, after all this stupidity, I wouldn't mind seeing 10,000 weekend warriors open up on that Trump cult when they crossed the perimeter. So much for propaganda-ready videos of cops opening gates so the crowd can flow instead of trample, let's see them stampede into a basic combat load.

There were still even Iraq and Afghanistan vets in field positions then so it might be less indiscriminate.

I always thought she was just waiting for Trump to kick the bucket to her share from his will. It's been so clear in her body language after 2020 how much she doesn't like being near him. I'd be very curious to see how vocal she becomes about her politics after Trump dies. This opinion by itself would disown her from the average Trump cultist follower.

A little of column A and a little of column B. She was Trump’s handpicked successor to take over for him but her and her wetbrained husband are pretty unpopular all around. She was never on board with the MAGA agenda but wanted to use it to further her and her husband’s profile. It worked against her so she’s backing away from the dumpster fire. I fully expect her to run for political office in the future. She has more ambitions than brains so it’s not going to work out well for her.
