To comment on the Grindr party, I'd like to point out there's a whole slew of parties during that period around the WHCA dinner.


Punchbowl News has its party, there's an Axios one, NOTUS, Status, Puck, Substack parties, the Vanity Fair crowd's, NBC/MSNBC's, CBS's and so on. So Grindr is really just one among many many groups doing parties that weekend.

Also I'm a little surprised to see Substack is supposedly inviting Clavicular to their party.

Meanwhile, Substack is leaning into its growing influence in media with its third annual “New Media Party,” set for the Renwick Gallery.

I earnestly believe Trump wants to lose the Mid Terms so he can blame Democrats when the bailouts are needed for the crashed system that will be facing America as the chickens come home.

The amount of fires burning in almost every industry coupled with the record highs in stocks is all telling us the inet ibavle is going to happen during Trump's term.

No way. The 25th Amendment would be enacted so fast if the Democrats won a majority. Also, MAGA Mike would be out as Speaker, which means that the House would no longer be shut down whenever a vote on something unpopular with Trump was proposed.

I’m just fucking livid with Trump for starting the Iran war for many reasons. But a big one that makes it especially bad was that the AI bubble bursting on its own could’ve caused deflation. All that money going up in smoke would’ve been like the COVID stimulus in reverse. Trillions of dollars just erased. Datacenters would’ve become like McMansions in the exurbs back in 2009. As long as they didn’t get bailed out again, some horrible people would get fucked while normal people would get some relief (even though it wouldn’t look like it at first. Think about how COVID relief seemed like magic free money and employment but it was actually setting the stage for $5 gas and $900,000 shoebox houses. Now imagine the opposite. No good economic story starts with “the economy was absolutely booming”).

The Iran War instead makes stagflation all but guaranteed. We’re going to get 20% interest rates, $5 gas, 10%+ unemployment, and probably 50 year mortgages.

The Chinese century wasn’t a done deal until now.
