I believe this provides a justification for a legal prosecution of the politicians involved and also a justification for cracking down on domestic dissent. If people resisting Trump are classified as foreign agents, a whole other toolbox for dealing with them becomes available. A color revolution, according to MAGA, is a fake revolution orchestrated by foreign countries to overthrow the legitimate government of a country.
Notably, this is right out of Putin's playbook ("the Russian law presumes foreign control from any foreign support, however minimal" ).
