While it's reasonable to conclude that Null's avatar has rabies based on the foam at its mouth, the truth is that the creature is struggling to even function as it is an unstable chimeric pig-dog with Down Syndrome. The creature suffers no less than a dog with rabies and is still prone to fits of spontaneous aggression and thus euthanasia is still recommended.

Looks like one of those dogs with short spine.
 
I consider Null's choice of avatar to be a reflection of how he has been treated by the Internet ( see: wikihow rabid dog )- i.e. like a rabid dog. While that may be where the pic originated, he is actually the Slobbermutt we know and love, and I recognize that the drool is depicting a desire for acceptance. And cheese. All dogs slobber for cheese.
