Geddy Lee from Rush, Snake from Voivod and Ronnie James Dio. Lemmy seemed pretty chill as well. Point being, most of these people are putting on an act onstage and only the spergy ones become borderline lolcows. Even James Hetfield, who I think is a massive fag, is a relatively normal enough dude off stage. He's just kind of a douche to every bassist in the band that isn't Cliff Burton.

Half of Rush's creative output is either hard prog rock or flat out progressive metal. Pretty much every prog metal act from the 80s and 90s like Dream Theater, Queensryche, Voivod and Fates Warning cites 2112 and Cygnus X-1 as a massive influence.

Edit: For some reason, I confused Agnostic Frost with Queensryche.
