Yeah I had a bunch. I would sometimes build huge monstrosities out of all the limbs and torsos. Also maybe it was because I played with mine quite a lot but the joints would always break which was super annoying.

I've heard of it; even played with one of the sets, in my youth. I preferred Lego, though, and generally ignored Bionicle.

One of Lego's best story driven themes that took full advantage of different mediums to sell the toys. The community is weird though.

I had the original bionicles. Had no idea what they were but got them one Christmas because some stranger put our family name on the "we're poor and suck at living" tree at the local shopping center. My favorite was the purple one.
Ended up getting a couple more because I thought they were cool. The battle scorpion things. They were fun until the rich kids stole or broke my stuff. Never really got into the story or anything. There was a GBA game I remember having at some point in time. Boy, did I miss out on the Bionicle community happenings.
