Does anyone call company’s to complain about products

Occasionally. More frequently if I find a food product thats fucked up, because they might need to do a recall. I got a check back from a wine company because the wine was bad when I opened it. Skunky and nasty. They sent a check as a replacement because shipping wine has various red tape to navigate in the US.

Normally I don't, but I have had to call UPS more than once to file complaints. Ordered a trailer hitch for an old Jeep I had once, because I needed to tow a trailer for a friend. Was supposed to show up in the morning on the day I needed it. Noticed when I woke up about 4am that it was still sitting in some terminal in BFE. Got told by two reps that everything was fine and it would be flying out for delivery to me within the hour.

Shocker. Never did. Completely fucked my day up. Their supervisor was a total cunt.

Hitch shows up the next day and it was delivered bent all to Hell. Had to file a claim with them. Their claims department was absolutely allergic to answering phone calls and emails.

Otherwise I don't fucking bother. I ordered a cheap Chinese radio for the woman's "new" Burb and it burned out as soon as the battery was reconnected. Getting my $25 back isn't worth dealing with Amazon returns or the company's return policy for. Went to a audio shop instead.

The only time I've called to complain about something other than a missing package/shipment or ink cartridges rendered useless by a firmware upgrade involved a memory upgrade for my then-desktop.

After carefully searching the HP web site to make sure I ordered to proper memory for my desktop, I looked on in confusion when it arrived and the box contained a slightly different memory module. When I called HP's customer assistance number, the person on the other end insisted the memory was compatible and told me that I should go ahead and install it. I did that, turned on the computer while still on the phone, and smelled a nasty smoky aroma. Not only was the support guy wrong about the memory, attempting to boot my computer with it installed fried my motherboard . I gave him a much deserved earful, especially after he said there was nothing he could do for me and my now-useless computer.

Thankfully, my uncle had just purchased a new computer and hadn't yet gotten rid of his previous one. He offered me the old case and said if my hard drive would work in it, the computer was mine to keep. I put my drive in his case and was back up and running minutes later. To this day, I won't buy HP computers unless I have no choice.

I'm too nice to do that usually. My dad on the other hand will rip them a new asshole over a penny because he has the spirit of a cartoon Jew when it comes to money.

My boomer dad loves to complain about everything on the phone like a PMSing 16 year old valley girl. I will only contact customer service if I have a genuine issue that needs to be solved. If a product or service is terrible, I would give them a low rating online.

Well I did send photo evidence and a disappointed e-mail when I found a quite sharp bit of bone in a pack of chicken that wasn't supposed to have any bones in it.

I got a voucher for their products of my choice as compensation, so only an idiot wouldn't complain.
Yeah if you pay for it
there should be some consistent quality control

I used call the Jack in the Box customer service number because the kids working there kept fucking up and squeezing that shitty watery mayo in my burger when I specifically requested that it not be included.

Then I realized that I could just simply walk back into the restaurant, tell them they screwed up my order, and get a new order for free. Not sure if most people getting fast food have the luxury of time to do that like I do, though.

I have rule with fast if cold and old,
I'll send it back.
Just because the kids working there
want to take there minimum wage rage
out on my food,
doesn't mean
I won't take the time to politely ask
them to redo the order

Little me came very close to sending a letter to the Capri Sun people about their now-discontinued dragonfruit flavor and how it was really kind of nasty.
My elementary school friend was somewhere on the spectrum and would get SO UPSET that her mom packed that flavor of Capri Sun, that I voluntarily traded juice with her every day until her mom bought another flavor. I wrote the letter (presumably in crayon, on Harry Potter stationary) expressing my grievences regarding their product, but I never sent it.

My mom once called Quilted Northern to complain about a commercial. You see, they're called QUILTED Northern, but in this one commercial they were KNITTING the toilet paper! My mom is never one to complain about trivial things but don't go getting your crafting words confused.

I remember that commercial!
And, I found it on YouTube:

I remember trying Capri Sun once and not liking the taste (I can't recall the flavor). From that day on, I called it Crap'py Sun.

Only if it's really fucked. I am not the kind of asshat to demand full refunds if I find a small piece of hair in the mashed potatoes.

I had a screw missing from some shitty pre-fab dresser-in-a-box I bought from Target. I called the number on the assembly directions and was legitimately stunned when
  1. A white person answered the phone
  2. They overnighted the screw at no cost
