Do you identify users on here by name or by avatar? - For science.

Posing this general question on here because it's something that bounces around in my brain from time to time.
Are you more likely to remember a user based on their avatar, or by their name? Or are there certain users whose name + avatar combo is just so sublime that you can't imagine one without the other?

Depends. Some users have consistent avatars so I notice them more by profile picture. Others who change their icon's often I remember by name more. Generally though name, picture and title are pretty much inseparable in my mind when perusing the forum.

I'd be lying if I said avatars didn't matter, I notice them when they change. Some users have themes and/or brands that make it a bit easier to identify them when they do change up their PHPs. I tend to use names, though.

Personally, I do find it odd when I read Waifu Days like a name. At least, it's odd saying it out loud. I may be identifying users by names but I'm certainly not saying them. Just sight recognition.

Profile pictures since they're essentially the "face" of that particular user. When people change them it sometimes takes me a moment to recognize who they are.

Avatar first, name second. I belive the proper Internet etiquette should be to at least keep your avatar on theme, like if I see a portly Aryan dictator or a ticking failed comedian who like to get pegged I can figure out who it is even if the exact picture is different.

Absolutely nothing but I keep my pfp consistent, I meant the different avatars you use should link to each other, the pic is for the quick recognition if I'm reading your name and know you of course I recognize it since it's your fucking name and it doesn't change, I just have to use a teaspoon of extra effort and fuck effort.

I typically will go by avatar first, name second. I'm a big fan of either keeping the same avatar or themed avatars that stay consistent. I only change mine for October & December (so far, kinda wish I'd done my April 1st idea but that is only a single day) but it will always be giraffe themed, but people like The Last Stand, AnOminus & Pissmaster who change much more frequently but keep on theme I am a big fan of.

I am a bit autistic about it actually, I've always considered making a thread on the topic.
