No.

Very simple question. If they have done something wrong (as any other person), in a "good" world they would be punished for it accordingly, but even then this is tangential to your post.

How is some old person who does not know any better, and is innocent, deserving of being scammed by some filth? Your question includes this hypothetical individual, so no, by common sense ethical standards.

Anyone who thinks the actual IRS is requesting Google Play cards doesn't deserve to have any money, but the Indian scammers don't deserve the money either purely because they are Indian, so I am conflicted.

As shitty as boomers have been no they don't. We already have old people prisons they get sent off to to die in while the company steals their money and assets, that's more than shitty enough.

The irony is that those under 25 are even more likely to fall prey to scams. Think of computer literacy and age as a bell curve.
To answer your question, I don't think anyone should be deserving of scams. However, depending on the circumstances and the hubris of the victim, you're allowed to not feel bad if they do fall for an obvious scam.

I guess it's just the boomer way to fall for obvious scams and make the world a worse place in the process by enabling liars.

they are kind of retarded. but the only ones that deserve to get scammed are the ones that think the obvious ai images with 5 hands are real, and then refuse to be told otherwise.

They have enough money, they had a good 60 years beforehand.

Desperate or very naive people fall for scams. Not old people.

And they fall for scams of any kind, whether it be stupid courses to be billionaires, catfishes, MLMs, crypto, NFTs, automation, real estate... The list is endless and ever growing.

If you think it's only Nigerian princes, chances are you're getting scammed right now.

Some deserve it, most don't. But I am not sure it really matters.
