Disney’s Mary Poppins Returns - a.k.a. there are now officially too many sequels

The funny thing is Disney already did this movie. Peter Pan 2: Return to Neverland is pretty much this movie, just with Peter Pan instead of Mary Poppins. Why they would make the same mistake twice is beyond me. No one liked Return to Neverland because when it wasn't rehashing Peter Pan it was bringing in stupid crap that wasn't needed.

As a side note (And apologies for Cartoon A.U.T.I.S.M) Disney's remake/sequel fetish right now is reminding me of their attempts in the eighties and nineties to make Penny from the Rescuers a Disney icon by repeatedly trying to put her in movies (Oliver and Company!, The Rescuers down under and (if Bob Gale is to be believed) Who Framed Roger Rabbit?). The thing is Penny was not that great of a character. She had the personality of a cardboard box and didn't do anything great, much like these sequels and remakes.

Oh fuck this movie. P. L. Travers made it clear that she didn't want Disney making another movie based on her books. Hell that was the only true thing in Saving Mr. Banks.

If they had to make this, I wish they kept Julie Andrews. I like the idea of old lady Mary Poppins.
