Disney has censored The French Connection

Forgive the hyperbolic title but it's sadly true.

The line that's missing:

It’s a bit between Doyle and Cloudy, who’s nursing a wounded arm after being stabbed by a drug dealer.
Doyle: “You dumb guinea.”
Cloudy: “How the hell did I know he had a knife?”
Doyle: “Never trust a nigger.”
Cloudy: “He coulda been white.”
Doyle: “Never trust anyone.”

So you think "This is just censored on whatever Disney's streaming platform of choice like when they censored the ass shot in Splash (1984)" but sadly this censored version was seen on the Criterion channel where this has blown up now.

This is why film preservation is so important and why a mega conglomerate like Disney should not have so much control. This is sadly the start of a domino effect because it's not hard to imagine this entire scene from the classic Dirty Harry being removed or dubbed over like in shitty TV edits:

Disney (through Fox) owns the rights to Dario Argento's Inferno and could very easily cut out the cat scene. It reminds me of something Joe Bob Briggs warned about where PETA could buy the international rights to Cannibal Holocaust and just torch all the prints. God forbid if Disney were to ever to get a hold of Cannibal Holocaust.

Fuck Disney. Fuck conglomerates. Fuck wokeness. Fuck censorship. You will take away the nigger version of the French Connection from my cold dead hands you motherfuckers.

It's a good film. Maybe a tiny bit overrated but it's a great police procedural.
yeah I'm really sorta meh on procedurals at large so even a great one is sorta "oh, okay" for me, but I can at least respect the _very_ appropriate outrage at fucking with The French Connection

It's worth it just for Hackman's performance. Hackman was in some bad movies (that is a great one though) but never gave a bad performance.

I'd say it's more of an action thriller than a procedural. There's more ass kicking and car chases and the like than procedure.

Última edición:
The car chase is genuinely impressive as well and considering they shot it on location in Manhattan.
it's amazingly weird to see old NYC footage, like Horror of Party Beach when you could just find random major streets that were just empty, and it wasn't a colossal thing to achieve like I Am Legend

The car chase was shot in Brooklyn without permits. They had off-duty cops controlling traffic.

It was legit guerilla film making.

Locations

Now I have to watch it. Thankfully I have a DVD that has not been raped by the mouse.

GD it this makes me want to move back to Brooklyn but I also do not want my family to be murdered by junkies so...guess that is off the table.

Anyone who didn't see shit like this coming when the Mouse bought Fox deserves their corporate overlords. The only good edit Disney has ever done was "Maclunkey" and I don't even think those bastards deserve credit for that, I think that was old pelican neck Lucas himself

I think pulling this shit should be considered cultural vandalism.

Just another incident in the long march of the woke to try and pretend history never happened. After all, if you can see actual tangible evidence that society is nowhere near as racist as it was 50 or even 25 years ago, how will the race grifters keep up their pretense that society is ackshually the most racist it's ever been right now today?

When they come for Pulp Fiction and don't say a fucking thing about Menace II Society, you'll know exactly why.

The only solace that I have is that each and every one of these woke faggots will eventually get eaten by their own for saying something that was fine yesterday, but today is completely verboten, but they hadn't yet gotten the message.
