I'm curious, where do you find the specific character information? I went to the official websites to compare for myself and could only find vague statements about who's available.

I don't know where exactly off the top of my head, but I'm pretty sure I've seen at least up-to-date chatter about who's appearing where, or "hey anybody know where Goliath does a meet and greet" or similar stuff on some of the theme park nerd boards

The magic bands are like, literally years old news. iirc there was a House rep that tried to inquire about them being a big datamining thing and Disney's response was basically "yes, it is. Are you going to do something about it, pussy?"

I thought she was a cat. Supposedly, an early version of the script said that the twist ending (where she's shown married to the dog guy and having had cubs) is that she was going to be revealed to be the male of her species while the ugly dog professor was actually the female.

Thankfully because it was before their time or online activism. Also it wouldn't really count for them as being tranny since the sexes of the dog/cat species are naturally the reverse of humans, that is if they had gone with the original script. But even then it was mostly played as a joke/unexpected surprise, but if they did it today you can bet they'd find some way to make it mega woke and Twitter types would go insane over it rather than the story as a whole (I mean tumblr is an insignificant speck compared to the obnoxiousness of Twitter lately).

It's no secret, Disney has always hated Treasure Planet, even from the beginning. It's funny as hell that now they think they can milk some more shekels from it... To be clear, I never saw Treasure Planet back in the day... Because Disney didn't advertise it for shit...

But I did watch it much later, and surprisingly liked it more than even the muppet's version.

My only answer to them making a live action version? Meh.

Aside from Treasure Planet, I find it surreal that Disney is so desperate for new content that they'll now be making movies based on their direct-to-vhs sequels from the 90s and 00s starting with Aladdin. I mean, all their sequels were shitty or meh at best with the exception of Return of Jafar, Kronk's New Groove and maybe (just maybe) Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas. Those three were the only ones with any real effort put into them, whilst the others were just meh, garbage or left you asking "did this really need to exist?". Especially the Little Mermaid sequels, with the third film being such a boring piece of shit that its impossible to endure for more than 10 minutes.

It was a financial failure because Disney allowed it to be a financial failure. They had no faith in it despite it being created by two of their leading directors, John Musker and Ron Clements. I don't know why they think turning it into a live-action film is a good idea.
