I'm somewhat curious about the live action Beauty and the Beast. The characters as inanimate objects worked in a cartoon; it fit, they were recognizable as a person and as an item, and it wasn't creepy (though rule 34 has done its damn best to change this). I can't see 3D versions being as charming. Creepy as fuck yes, charming and sweet no.

Terrifying.

@Ntwadumela's opinion regarding this is the only one that matters.

So Beauty and the Beast is coming out this Thanksgiving or Christmas, both The Lion King and The Little Mermaid are development, and wasn't a live-action Mulan announced because there was SJW outrage over the cast?

They should add a human character to the Lion King and make him a white hunter. The SJW and 90s kids tears and salt will be delicious.

My thoughts about it are on the first page.

As for a human character? That would be very interesting, since the only time we saw humans was in the Timon and Pumbaa cartoon show they put on air back in the 90s, and it featured several other well-known characters from the film. Then again, the pace of it all was pretty wacky and nonserious.

Make him a white hunter straight from Rudyard Kipling.

Is that how it's going to look in the live-action movie?...

Photorealism just doesn't work for something like this.
If only they knew! Disney can never be loose with this stuff unless the whole thing was 'animated' that way. I would love to see a film that shattered that perception for once, like the way Disney would do a film with regular animals doing usual hijinks in live-action, replace them with CGI figures in the look of their recent films like Zootopia, Bolt and such and you might actually create an interesting divide between the IRL humans/backgrounds and CG animals. That's the sort of thing I want.

That movie was somehow less kid friendly than the real live-action Oliver!
Still you gotta love the real world approach there. Impressed at the detail for its time in the backgrounds.

and disney couldn't just re-release their movies into theaters so people can rewatch them on the big screen why?
i want to see a few disney films on the big screen again, just do that disney
We wish. There was a time before home video when that was true, but it took nearly a decade before one could see Snow White and the others again. You either saw it or you didn't, and you had to wait another 7-8 years before it showed up again, but that was the way they did it best. Home video kinda ruined it for these classics.

It really is!

You could add a sort of scientist guy with a bushy white mustache...

And then the Tezuka estate would have more legal ground to sue.[/user]
Aha, I see someone figured it out! That character had the best part at the end of the original manga too, it was either him or Leo/Kimba! Of course Disney doesn't have the balls for this!

The Lion King is one of the most beloved Disney movies of all time, beloved by furries and man children the world over.
No matter what they do even if it comes out amazing they cannot stop the salt from the people who liked the original better. But apparently the new cartoon show has been well received by fans so I dunno I don't care enough to check.

Typically what they do with these remakes is they retell the plot and add new elements to the story eg the jungle book one where Mowgli isn't just a stupid shit kid and is instead very clever and inventive. I honestly have no idea what they could add to the story but I'm guessing they're going to make the hyenas more sympathetic and explore the racial relations between the hyenas and lions. Or maybe they'll give Scar more screentime and he'll do more as king rather than just bitch

Maybe it's just a movie version of the musical, or they'll find some other way to insert Scar's birthname in it.
