Zootopia IS still just a normie movie about funny animals
Just because it appeals to furries doesn't mean it's exclusively made with them in mind, furries will like anything with animals in it, although I do believe this movie may have had a bit more of an attempt to sell to that crowd after they realized what they had with Zootopia 1

One thing Zootopia 2 has going for it is an art style that isn't complete ass. The character designs don't all blend together. No bean mouths. It's visually engaging, which Disney lacks in spades nowadays.

The furthest the movie goes is that mantra where "anyone can be anything in Zootropolis", which is honestly just a retelling of the nonsense you tell children about how they can be an astronaut or the president when they grow up if they try hard enough etc. It's a very vanilla sentiment that I think most people just accept as a pleasantry.

I just got back from watching Zootopia with a friend, and one of the trailers shown before the movie was for the Disney Pixar movie that comes out next year called Hoppers. The animation for the animals was really good, especially this scene where some of the animals are in a car with a human (the animals have small black eyes and it makes them look like non-anthropomorphic Calico Critters, it was honestly really cute). The humans? Except for the main guy character, all look horrible. It's that Cal-Arts style, the same one used in the flop Elio (according to my friend). I do not know why this extremely wealthy film studio is animating humans that look like ones a college student would do for a short film. In a way, it's almost insulting. I want to see a Disney Pixar movie for the spectacular animation, gosh darn it! Go back to your roots!

I didn't really have an issue with that, it's standard children's movies mantras. Now my brain might be lowkey cooked bc of politics (and because I've been following this situation closely), but I can't help but think that any form of entertainment written (whether that's books or movies or TV shows) after the Israel-Palestine conflict started that features a group being oppressed by another is a direct reference to the conflict, and it really takes me out of the experience. Like I said, my brain could just be fried and I could be looking into this too much and it could've been unintentional, but it was just something else that I noticed.
