Disabling Animated Avatars

Hey,
I am wondering if there is a way for me to disable avatar animations locally. The more obnoxious ones I can use the ignore function fortunately, but I cannot ignore staff, and want to avoid ignoring half the users.
I also considered using ublock filters for it, but this is not robust between domains, and I want to ask here first in case I am missing something.

If they're serious obnoxious just report them. Alternatively, use the Stealth theme (bottom left) to hide all avatars.

Tested the first one in a Firefox fork and it works. Avatars still display, animated ones are a single frame.
