My first draft called them sheeple but I thought that was a bit crude, but you're not wrong. There are some people who just accept whatever someone with power tells them to do, because if they have power it must be good, even if it's not good for them. See a lot of feminists responding to muslim rape gangs, lefty union folks worshipping getting their unions crippled by 3rd world wages, ect, and realize this all comes from not just the usual greed, but that greed can only work if a good amount of people, not even a majority but enough to be loud, obligingly repeat what the power says because power is good.

It is a cascading series of bad decisions, but I would say him going after Pikamee for playing Hogwartz. Unlike a lot of political issues where there's some awareness of risk from its participants, some Vtuber is completely innocent; like criticizing a puppy for playing a game. Dev went from being a partisan hack to outright evil when he got called out. Corey Compertore confirmed the pattern for being similarly innocent; when told by the audience he said something messed up, he argues with all of them personally to prove he was right and in the process, creates psychological reactance.

As someone who enjoys watching EFAP Dev ruined basically every episode he was on, constantly interrupting others and always shifting the conversation back to himself and how intelligent he is. Though I also blame the EFAP crew for having him on so much despite their own viewers telling them every time they don't want him there.

Its hard to say but I like the theory it was his, as Dev puts it, "blocks getting raped" that did it.
 
It's always funny how the people who advocate loudest for just killing their political enemies/opponents are the ones least likely (or physically) capable of doing it. They never seem able/willing to do it themselves. It's always "well gosh golly gee, somebody else ought to do it, y'know, take one for the team!"

That and they never stop to consider that the intended targets tend not to want to die, and especially when talking about "MAGA types," tend to be fucking armed and generally better-skilled with their firearms than the average layman or wiry antifag (they're more comfortable around improvised explosives anyway, which makes for its own comedy when they blow themselves up more frequently than they do their targets).

Whenever someone openly calls for killing conservatives in the US especially, my reaction is "fuckin' go for it, see how that goes for you." No, really, go piss off the most well-armed demographic of human beings on this fucking planet with an ill-advised and woefully unprepared pogrom against them just based on how they vote or what color hat they wear.
