Going back to 50s values puts things before the Long March Through the Institutions, and it undoes the damage of Baby Boomers in the 60's, 70's and 80's. That's fair. The way I see it, the only way to "return to earlier values" would be to change them partially to suit the conditions of the current world. If you are unwilling to change your mind, that isn't something intrinsically positive.
