Really, what this final update says to me is that there's a lot of retarded shit that happens thanks to management prioritizing quarterly earnings over quality products. Imagine if Bungie would have done what Jagex is doing with RS3 now, putting development efforts towards QoL improvements and building a better foundation for the game that they'd fucked up before. The series could have gone on for many years to come, and it could have built up a stronger, more populous player base in that time. But shit like that doesn't have a tangible numerical benefit, so it completely flies over their head as they focus instead on securing their bag. Same reason why we always saw more effort get put into Eververse every season than game improvements; having a few artists whip up a bunch of skins to sell for $10 or $20 a pop is much easier to quantify the RoI than making some game system slightly better.

I'm no commie, but damned if I don't understand why a lot of people have no faith in capitalism these days.
No ideology has a monopoly on bad management. Bungie and Sony both made poor corporate strategic decisions in the past few years. The former overinflated its value and live service "expertise" to get acquired while the latter threw money down the drain with titles like Concord and Destruction AllStars. It's rather fitting that as Marathon and Destiny face uncertain futures, neither Jim Ryan (Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO during the acquisition) and Pete Parsons (Bungie CEO during the acquistion) are no longer in their positions today.

Destiny 2 had questionable and downright disgusting business practices but what ultimately destroyed the franchise was terrible leadership.

Lol no it was not a good decade. The good decade was Halo CE to Reach.
He meant it was a good half-decade for him, getting paid a huge salary to spin in his chair while Rome burned.
Why are BLAST HAVER’S™ so antagonistic to Destiny players?
Sunk cost. They can't accept they backed a shitty game that's already in 4-figure peaks only 3 months after release.

Destiny was a great IP ruined by incompetence over the course of a decade, Marathon was a shit idea poorly executed that will be lucky to last a year.

how i loathe the faggots that cried for this to be "balanced", i can rest easy knowing the game they love is dead however, although the parasites might migrate to another game but that's some other nigger's problem.

I hope to God this is true. But I know that even if it is, it isn't anywhere near enough for the buttfucking this piece of shit deserves. He'll still be wealthy enough to keep fucking around indefinitely. I'll take whatever victories we can get over the fucker.

I've been thinking of getting The Division 2 since it's on sale, would anyone recommend it?
It's pretty good and basically more of what the first game delivered, assuming you've played it. It's a great little looter shooter, and the single player is fun, but it's not exactly an MMOTPS if that's what you want. That said, the Division 3 is going to come out soonish and you probably won't be missing out on story/lore content if you don't play 2. I'd say go for it if it's cheap, otherwise just wait for 3. Also
>We got the Division 3 before Destiny 3
>The Division outlived Destiny
>The Division 3 is going to have more raids/strikes
>They're going for the Destiny audience
>MFW

Beggars can't be choosers I guess. I'm going to play it.
