Destiny 2 had a lot of great moments. I think my favorite was doing Glassway Grandmaster before it got nerfed.
We're at the final encounter and both of my friends died close to the end just as a bunch of Wyverns spawned.
I solo multiple of them with Izanagi, and just as I kill the final one a lone Goblin comes up behind me and instantly kills me.

I remember when the glassway was first in gm rotation. We cheesed it with a bleak watcher lock, a commander titan, and a well lock, two witherhoards, and completely eschewed sniper resistance despite vandals having the potential to one shot a nigga. The bleak watchers styled on overload minotaurs so hard it wasn't even fair. This was back when eye of another world could get nade cooldowns so stupidly low they nerfed the shit out of bleak watcher to always have the max cd.

When the Lightfall and final shape got split, I had originally assumed it was going to be D2 RoI moment. Where Bungie hadn't been able to develop D3 fast enough and it's Y1 was being split to buy time/be spun into a DLC. Then it came out and was such a disorganized pile of shit that I realized I was still thinking of old Bungie, and that this was the best nu-bungie could do(everything up to Lightfall had been in the works since Activision so other studios had worked and written for them).

Damn that kinda sucks, I never got to play Destiny 2 mostly due to the need of PS+ on new gen (fuck that) to play most of the game but I did play Destiny 1 to death on my PS3.

Hopefully they do something good with the IP and it stays alive, destiny rising seems decent from what I've seen and I hope they make a f2p title with the mainline quality for the next entry (that way they shouldn't fuck people up with content like they did on 2), but one can only hope, I do believe Rising could be them testing the waters.

I dont want to dance on the grave of a game that a lot of people liked and that had some really good merits (that were totally squandered) but I cant help feel a little bit of schadenfreude. The Destiny 2 fan base had the largest amount of the most insufferable cock sucking, ball washing, consumer cattle of any game I have ever played. The amount of times I heard Destiny players defend the most retarded and scummy business practices like dungeon keys, consumable shaders, and the price of eververse items. Not to mention all of the retarded game design designs like vaulting, sunsetting and random balance changes. All of the DLC had woefully small amounts of content compared to every other game of it type.

Bungie would squat down, shit in D2 player's mouths and a huge waves of dents would tell you we just need to spend more money because the next DLC would be good and that we need to support Bungie like they are a struggling mom and pop restaurant and not a studio bought for 3.7 billion. Even now, after Bungie told D2 players to go fuck themselves I have seen these dents unironically say that D2 players need to play Marathon to support Bungie so they will get a D3. Unreal.

I remember the consumable shaders and that fatfuck luke smith coming out and trying blow smoke up everyones ass about how "you'll collect tons of shaders!"

I wouldn't count on that boss. Destiny rising was made entirely without Bungie's influence and before the Sony stuff. It follows its own cannon and can only be free to play by having gatcha MTX and a energy based pay2play system that is toxic in Western gaming. Also..

Destiny 2 is at 15k players as of right now, 12:30pm MST. This doesn’t take into account Consoles numbers.

Marathon is at 9.5k. And has a worse player base on console than Destiny 2. Ruh roh raggy!

The good news is Destiny 1 on PS3 is still pretty well populated, so you can always go back and relive some memories. Provided your thumb skills haven’t atrophied as bad as mine, anyway.

Also I categorically refuse to play Destiny Rising because paying $5 every hour to refill your energy bar is chinkpilled and my Caucasian soul refuses to accept such filth.

The problem with Marathon is that extraction shooters are for only the sweatiest PvP lovers and from what I've heard Marathon is by far the sweatiest.

I've played both Mara and Arc Raiders, both have very cool settings and art style but I can't play at such intensity the whole time. I don't fancy a game where I'm essentially borrowing my guns and eventually they'll belong to someone else.
