That's probably not far off as far as guesses go for who is going to get the next destiny project. Project codename "GUMMY BEAR" that was previously in development at Bungie sounds right up Arrowhead's alley based on what we heard a few years ago.

Whoever managed to pitch a sale to Bungie and WIN is genuinely the fucking smartest guy ever and he is probably going to be raped too. All of this is rape. Destiny the game is rape.

Did they ever stop using Destiny alpha leftovers?

Infamously, Destiny 1 had a bunch of content cut, including the story. Destiny 1 DLC was partially on the disc (people glitched into it) and Destiny 2 was using things shown in early D1 trailers like the European Dead Zone. When I stopped following, (shortly before they "vaulted" content) they were still repurposing old stuff.

And a related question what content never made it?

Again, early trailers and GDC presentations talked about "the swamps of old chicargo", as well as planets and moons that, at the time, you never got to visit. There was also gambling and sparrow racing. Sadly, those original videos seem to be missing from YouTube, or just buried.

No, it's obvious by now what happened in late 2013. They decided to gut the original version Joe and company had planned out and basically drip fed it over the next decade. It was just their lazyness and incompetence that allowed them to strech it for a couple more years, hence 2014-2026.

Early on in the series Activision had to put 2 internal studios to help Bungie not only fix their shit, but develop additional content because "it was too hard" for Bungie. To the point that a significant portion of the community knows that some of the best content of the series came from Vicarious Visions and High Moon, not fucking Bungie. They only stopped helping when Bungie split from Activision.

As to who was responsible for all the talented people leaving Bungie, that's squarely on Bungie's board and particularly Jason Jones. Anyone who believes otherwise is just coping and/or uninformed.

You are 100% right and I really hate this "Activision Bad" when relating to Destiny/Bungie.

Don't get me wrong, Activision IS bad, but we would probably at least still have an ongoing game if it was in their hands. It would probably be even more sloppified, but alive.
Despite all their issues, they know how to make business, which is why they abandoned the franchise, they knew it was a sinking ship 7 years ago.

I remember my guild friends back in Destiny 1 discussing Activision bad, and I was always very wary of it, because I know that Activision is souless but they know how to adjust their games to make money. COD is still alive after 20 years for a reason. Then when word got out that Activision was no longer with Bungie, they were all huffing insane amount of Hopium, just saying "finally Bungie is free to do the game they wanted ", and I was sideeyeing them.

Yah, people often forget that in the age of "it's always the publishers fault". Without writing another big summary, just as a reminder, Bungie's problem was always ambition>reality. They would(do) frequently overrun deadlines by adding tons of unnecessary content. Cut said content and then try to sell it again later even if it doesn't make sense(sunk cost fallacy). And worst of all they would out spend their revenue streams which is the cardinal sin of all business and was a constant complaint by everyone they worked with. Bungie wasn't passed around like a two bit prostitute between publishers, they were a gilded financial time bomb that no one wanted to be holding when it inevitably exploded.

The talent cutting was a attempt to stem the bleeding by cutting out the highest paid employees, most of whom had been around since Halo 2. Besides Marty, I can remember that of all the old heads cut, the lowest salary being $700,000. Not saying they should have been cut or deserved less.
