I started out playing D2 on console before moving to PC so all my DLCs are locked to Xbox and unavailable if I play it through Steam. This results in me having to play on their piece of shit PC app that fails to properly install updates, says that an error has occurred and makes me reinstall the whole game.

Well, as I wait for the update. I figured I'd make a post here. I started Destiny about the time the announcement that development would stop dropped. A friend of mine played it for years and was going back in for the nostalgia, and I figured he could relive some of the game through new eyes if I joined him. I've got to say I'm shocked at how good and bad it is at the same time.

I did the intro, went to the tower and met a bunch of NPCs. Saw the Traveller. And then joined my buddy. I asked about the NPCs I met and was told they'd all died in parts of the story I can't play. I asked where the giant beach ball went and was told it left. We're at the point where I'm playing content with my friend just so he can explain what's going on.

The worst part is that it's fun enough to keep playing. Even the stuff he calls bad I'm enjoying. I'm utterly shocked at how mismanaged this game was and how close to being on par with the original halo trilogy in quality it could have been.

I still can't get over the original Weapons of Light nerf. Bubble Titan was already a C-tier subclass in PvE, and it was the only real support option available for Titans. And then they removed the ability to give your teammates a damage boost for no fucking reason. Then they added it back, but locked behind Helm of AIDS-14. IIRC in the TWAB they announced it, they said something like "We know there's not much content where giving an overshield is better than giving a damage boost, but we're Looking Into It," tacitly admitting that they made it useless for no reason. Even the new rework seems gimmicky, it reminds me of Arbor Warden which has a similar ability and is by far the worst most useless Titan armor in the game.
I didn't play the subclass much, but it was nice to be able to quickly swap to a support role when your raid team needed it or when playing with newbies. As you know, no subclass can be allowed to compete with Dawnblade, the clear favorite of all the women and trannies Bungie hires.
 
I think what will be the funniest part of Destiny is the seasonal content and how time works in game for the story.

at the end of Lightfall, the Witness assails the Traveler goes inside to do its plan of turning the entire universe into a frozen museum, however, because this plotline can't be resolved till the next expansion, which was a a year and 4 months later, till then your PC, and the rest of the cast are just sitting on your thumbs, doing the Guardian Games, making cookies, all that shit, just hoping that they aren't instantly annhilated by The Witness.

which is retarded and silly, but also it takes The Witness a year and some change to even get close to his wincon, despite having BILLIONS OF YEARS of planning for this fuckin moment.

Truly a comedy of errors for all around.
