I can't believe an obviously undamaged piece of current-gen consumer electronics deliberately left unattended on a seldom frequented, easy to find sidewalk in New York City surrounded by attention-getting signs and flowers was stolen after the person who left said piece of said electronics published a photo to it on the internet in relation to a current events story.
Seriously though, what was their plan, to come back and get it some undisclosed point in the future when the memorial inevitably either gets cleaned up by city employees, or rots in the sunlight and wind and salt water spray constantly present over the river at that height?
People did similar tributes to the Nintendo president that died, but at least his memorial was actually at the Nintendo Store and all the tokens left behind were sent to Nintendo as part of an archive and will possibly be featured in an exhibit some day.
I would however love to be able to see into the minds of ordinary people who see an apparent suicide memorial while walking to work, that includes apparently threatening messages such as "no bitch niggas".
