It might be kinda an edgy nihilistic view of the situation, but if he did end up offing himself it might be for the best. If hes so out of his mind crazy that he refuses to get help, is uncontrollably delusional, is a massive drain on everyone around him via his erratic actions, and there is no conceivable way to ever fix the problem due to the fucked up american system of dealing with mental health, then maybe peacefully ending it all might be the best option to cause the least amount of harm to not only others, but to end whatever miserable mental prison he is trapped in. I'd rather see him be helped personally and fix whatever lunacy is going on in his head, but I begrudge no one for choosing to end their own lives in order to cease an active suffering, if they believe that is the right choice.

These people are so desperate to believe he's alive they will cling to anything to suggest it, even one incorrect report by a newspaper that happened 6 years ago. But I wonder if they would actually prefer him being dead as a victim of mental illness rather than him faking this entire thing, worrying tons of people and causing a gigantic police and fan response.

With his belongings being found, the suicide video being released on a schedule rather than at a random time, and no contact in days, I only see one way this ends unless he is trying to be the new Andy Kaufman.
 
Since New York Post has released this, the police and investigators will be flooded with inquiries from other news sources. We'll find out soon how much NY Post is bullshitting, or if they are at all.

If you haven't actually read the article, they reportedly found a black and red Switch among the items.
 
Well it's not like he doesn't have money. He could just get a new one. I've seen similarly mentally ill folks plan on throwing away precious items to really "cinch" it. That being said, it's 50/50 at this point. But considering how much of an egohog he is, I'm pressing X super hard on this one. Although we'll see.

Any updates on tracking his phone? has it moved at all?

It was still in New York from what I last heard though it’s likely he may have ditched it

I've been following the Etika drama since he turbo-nuked his YouTube by uploading porn (which seems to be his first meltdown).
Etikas involvement in the Venus project was theorised when he got arrested for chimping out at the police (even possibly sooner). Since then there have been a tonne of links and evidence that could be compiled in this thread with a simple google search. It seems Etika flip-flops between actually making sense and going batshit mental about the venus project, and this guy "EyeSeaAy" has come up before repeatedly when Etika goes off the rails.

If you sift through the bullshit theres a lot there to suggest Etika isn't quite right, and EyeSeaAy seems to be almost trolling him. I wish i could use the term "preaching", but something about the user "EyeSeaAy" suggests he's really not genuine and attempting to get a rise out of Etika.
 
yeah, this isn't looking good.

assuming he faked his suicide and went towards that convention in Florida like some of the hopefuls on his sub are suggesting (leaving his Switch and headphones behind is like the suicide of his online persona), he would've had to pack a change of clothing with him as he made it seem he jumped off ass naked, he has nothing on him, there's nothing at his apartment (couldn't even go back if he wanted to), at best the dude has just the clothes on his back plus whatever else had in his bag aside from the change of clothing.

i'm guessing if that were the case then he's in kahoots with someone from that cult to pick him up or something, no way he's commuting or some shit.

either way, this is the end for Etika, but we'll have to see what became of Desmond.

This is what got me about the circumstances. Etika buttfucks Nintendo hard so leaving a switch behind is quite worrying.

I am unfamiliar with Etika other than his freakouts, so I can't speak for the Switch.

Earlier out of curiosity and armchair investigative purposes I Googled "Etika's Nintendo Switch" and all the images that popped up showed him with a gray Switch.
