I thought for 3 years that Newsom would be the 2024 nominee after Biden resigned, somewhere between the middle of his term. Both Newsom and Michelle Obama are well-received by their party and you could easily convince Americans that either one of them won.

Instead they pick Harris, 106 days before the election, after an attempted assasination attempt on the opposition.
