The benefit of having a lawyer in your corner - even a bad one - is really about procedures and etiquette of any litigation & Court; and empowers a party far more so than those without. Saving 5K on not having a lawyer is really not saving 5K, it's ensuring to get what you want now that you'll have to spend 10K.

Vicker's failures are really only acting as a warning to those who will no doubt be pursuing Ethan in the future. It takes a Rookie to make a rookie mistake & Harry would never (nor shall) make such a mistake, which is why he is out of Ralphs league, with or without an attorney.

Meanwhile the formative years critical to bonding with a child which can never be repaired, made up or compensated for are passing by and Ralph will never be a father to these children even if he was to show up a new man in 5 years. To clarify, he likely could afford it if he managed his money like an adult and prioritized the stuff that could come back to bite him in the ass, but he probably continues to blow it all on food deliveries, drugs, whores and gambling.
