Debate if you think Maddox had grounds to sue Dick Masterson

Seeing that ol' buddy Maddox has dropped the massive near three hour video on Dick, a debate over the initial lawsuit has ignited. Initially, the Farms at large was on the side of Dick and friends as seen in both Maddox's main thread and in the separate thread covering the lawsuit, but opinions seem to be that perhaps our collective assessment of Maddox's case was flawed.

I'm seeking the legal opinions of our resident lawfags (paging @AnOminous), but if you ask me, Maddox was his own worst advocate at that point. No one told him to choose Kevin Landau, but he did and subsequently lost. He can blame the judge for dismissing his case with prejudice based on "fake news" all he wants, but all the evidence he gathered in that recent feature should've been presented in court. The lawsuit died on his shoulders.

Maddox's lawsuit was batshit insane from the start and the fact that he filed you in New York and not California where both he and Dick live tells you everything you need to know. For all of its shitty laws one things California gets right is that it has strong anti-SLAPP statutes against frivolous speech-based lawsuits, while New York did not. The reason Maddox won't file in California is because he'd get ass blasted for filing a frivolous, retarded lawsuit there.

Probably if he narrowed it to stuff Dax directly did or his influence in losing the advertisers, the problem with the original lawsuit was that it was all over the place and included everyone. Also it needed to be much better written by whoever it was originally.

Are we going to hear from the amazing journalist Heather S who works at Conda Nast again?
Fun fact, the judge in New York refused to pursue charges against Maddox based off of his lies about being Heather S because nowadays who's to say Maddox isn't actually a woman (not joking, he said that).

The case was bullshit and was correctly dismissed.

I'm not entirely sure the reason for that wasn't at least in part because of his incompetent, drunken lawyer Kevin A. Landau (known as LanDUI for not having a driver's license thanks to driving drunk repeatedly), or whether LanDUI just signed off on Maddox's own disgruntled ramblings, but in any event the complaint was incoherent and failed to state anything resembling a real cause of action.

I'm not sure if a competent lawyer could have teased out sufficient facts to at least get past a motion to dismiss, but what Maddox filed wasn't it. Butthurt isn't a cause of action.

The complaint was riddled with typos, grammatical mistakes, and bad usages of legal terms that a first year law student wouldn't engage in, so the prevailing theory is that Maddox wrote it himself and just got LanDUI to file it. Rackets did a great breakdown of the complaint line by line, "bullshit" barely scratches the surface on why it's so bad.

There is a big difference between having legitimate gripe, and turning that into a lawsuit that states a claim.

It's become much easier to argue he was legitimately aggrieved by some of Dick's behavior as Dick has steadily let the mask slip. That may make Dick the asshole Maddox claimed he was, but doesn't make the dozens of pages of drivel filed anything other than a massive unactionable whinge.

If Diddler was going around harassing his advertisers with no real excuse for it other than tard rage and to harm his business deliberately, there probably was something like a tortious interference claim, which a competent lawyer would have recognized. Instead, though, the lolsuit was laughable and mostly just consisted of random bitching and complaining more or less unrelated to the alleged causes of action, or against people (like the poor rando who just happened to answer the phone at Patreon when this bald Armenian faggot called to seethe) who he had absolutely no cause of action against as they had done nothing whatsoever to him.

ive gotta finish the documentary but when i started i was leaning towards maddox but now maddox has really won me into his corner the liberal stuff makes me cringe but its very well edited and he painted fanboy juju in a really bad light

The only reason kiwifarms wasn't in this disgusting lolsuit was that it didnt have the infamy it does now back then. There's an alternative universe where this lawsuit was competent, a massive headache, and ruinous to KF.
I get team sports are how our retarded brains work, but it's entirely possible that they are both disgusting faggots, especially since they had a partnership for so long.

We didn't do anything to fuck with his business and as he found out, calling him a bald cuck isn't defamatory. If he sued Maddox over stuff like tortoise interference instead of over butthurt it might have had a chance. As it was, it "failed to state a cause of action" because calling someone a bald cuck after banging his ex isn't illegal. We didn't even bang his ex, fuck with his sponsors, try to wreck his business, and the other arguably actually illegal stuff Dax did.

Dax was one of twentyish codefendants in his batshit insane lawsuit, including a random patreon customer service representative, everyone else besides dax's worst crime was making fun of him (assuming that dax even committed any, which lmao Maddox is retarded to use as a source, he and dax are in a constant competition to see who can lie, manipulate and mislead more). As evidenced by Asterios and likely the patreon employee a lawsuit does not have to remotely meritorious for it change the trajectory of your life.

So far as I know the Patreon employee didn't have to pay a dime of his own or ever even show up in court or even respond to anything personally. And it changes your life a lot less when you can raise $100K or so in a couple hours. Just saying, the Greersuit has been a lot more burdensome than anything that bald cuck could come up with when we never did shit to him.

I'm not too sure about the patreon guy either, but it does go to show what Maddox was attempting to do, put him on the hook for 20 million for not banning the guy maddox didn't like. I do agree that once the infrastructure and support was built it would have been much less concerning, but this was 2018? When the biggest legal concerns were mountain jew in nature.

Considering the Patreon employee was represented by the same lawyer as Patreon, it's safe to assume they were covering it for him. There's no indication on the docket he ever personally had to respond to the case in any way or pay any money.

Which is very kind of patreon to save him thousands of dollars from defending himself in an utterly spurious lawsuit or dealing with a multimillion dollar default judgement.
