Definitely gonna take a while to get accustomed to the new map layouts and the icons. At least I win yet again as a Dynamo main because that redesign is just gorgeous.
 
A massive mod will soon be released for Deadlock, recreating it's days as Neon Prime.

I'm glad they didn't go in this direction for the art style. There's been so many games that have this overly glowy aesthetic, It's such an easy pit to fall down and make everything extreme. Maybe the final game would've looked different but this all looked really generic Sci-Fi.

We got a beta restored mod for deadlock before a single HL2 beta mod managed to come out. That’s just hilarious.

Anyhow didn’t they specifically cancel it because games with this art style kept dying like flies?

I'm assumming all of these Neon Prime assets were present in the earlier non-public builds of the game. Presumably they've just placed them back in and fixed them up.

The HL2 leaks back in the day had multiple different iterations of the game mixed together with a huge amount of WIP assets.

I won't lie, they were cooking with some of these new characters designs. Billy honestly looks badass and gives me Suda51 vibes.



I've also haven't played in a year, and was pretty cool to see a lot has changed since then. I like the new moody vibe the map gives now. I haven't played enough yet to give an opinion on three lanes, but it's probably for the better. since a solo lane person didn't get stomped quick by a coordinated team pushing two or three people there to get a quick lane. Especially if you're one of those solo laners in quickplay.

Prediction for the order the new heroes will be voted in:
  1. Billy
  2. Victor
  3. Paige
  4. Drifter
  5. Doorman
Maybe swap Paige and Drifter. But Billy is literally the GOAT tho, character design wise at least. I like the characters with high fire-rates like Wraith, it looks like he's going to have a SMG.

Really digging how much they've fleshed the map out in these past few updates. I feel like it's a good time for me to check the game out again as it's looking more and more finished. The new charcter designs are neat.
 
The new soundtrack really sucks, especially compared to the old music. The whole style is much more in your face now which is a shame, although the new map does look really cool especially the industrial side.
 
Something about this patch drew in all the type of players that Null complains about in the Dota thread. Love the polish it's been getting though.
 
I love how Billy doesn't reload his smg one handed, but instead literally eats the magazine and grabs a new mag with his mouth off his chest to reload. They honestly went out with his character in cool design and unique animations.
