I'm looking for a thread that addresses this specifically but I could not find one so I might as well ask here.
It seems that DOA 6 last round is coming out June 24th of this year, but I don't understand what the difference is between this game and the DOA 6 we already have.
Do they expect us to pay $40 dollars for slightly better graphics to a game that was released years ago? The only pre-order stuff I'm even seeing is a hairstyle and an outfit,
I'm to believe that this cheap cash grab is worth $40 dollars and Mai still isn't in the game? Am I missing something here?

I'm not seeing anything worth the $40 dollars and I'm thinking they are doing a test run before they release DOA 7.

I'm hopeful it re-energizes the game enough I can get some matches, especially depending on how T8 S3 goes. Though of course I'm more looking to DoA7 and how that turns out.

Have they said what current owners of DoA6 get?
Yeah, nothing. Not only that but it doesn't even have rollback or cross-play.

if you look at its history, the initial DOA5 was kind of a flop, specially with its focus on esports "I am a fighter" campaign. it took a DOA 5 Last Round and more focus on sexy costumes to get back on its feet.

its most likely KT trying it again with DOA6. but KT must accept the fact that DOA will never be mainstream and just budget accordingly, I mean their biggest seller was DOA2 that was just topped by DOA5 because of multiple releases.

If I remember right, DoA5 Last Round exists because Koei Tecmo ran out of alloted DLC spots Sony gave them.

They wanted to sell more DLC.
My issues with DoA is that they compromised the series in favour of monetization of the girls. The early games have there titillation, but they were genuinely good fighting games on top of that. If DoA7 ever becomes a thing it's going to be a gacha fighting game first and formost, with the gambling put first before the actual gameplay. I know the series was kinda forced into that though. The FGC was never a fan of DoA because of the boobs. It's retarded that the series is treated as a party fighting game like Mortal Kombat.

The console release usually have all the DLC on disc, that is the main differences from the first release, but it also might have some improvements for PS5Pro. If you are a PC player then i guess this new release dont matter much.

$1,137.00 dollars is what someone estimated online if you wanted to buy every piece of DLC. That's fucking ridiculous.
I'm going to need more than just jiggle physics and "LOOK! TITS!" To spend money on DLC in a game.
As a Soul Calibur fag, hope your series dies as painfully as mine. Hope you have a good day though.
There's already talks about a 7th game coming out. It's extremely hard to kill a game with scantily clad women jiggling around while they beat each other up.

DOA 4 was the goat though.

Before loot-boxes and Fortnite like item-shops DoA 5's DLC system looked silly. I remember all the big gaming youtubers made fun of it back then. Today it looks cheap and even forgiving that you can pick and choose what costumes you want, but that should more speak of modern gaming than as a compliment for DoA.

It's dead on alive-al

Probably a rights thing with KOF characters being wed to SF at the moment. Would not be surprised if the DLC pack for Mai and Kula gets removed soon for original DOA6, Mai became unpurchaseable in DOA5 eventually.

Consider DoA 6 LR as a slightly updated version of DoA 6. LR includes all the DLC characters (other than Mai and Kula) in the base game, updated lighting in one stage, a photomode as the selling point. Your DLC costumes will carry over from DoA 6 to LR.

The guy who manages Koei's Western Social Media (oOMasterOo, former DoA Champion from mid 2000s) made it clear that they are pandering to the Esports/Evo crowd yet again.

A game called Kingdom Heroes: Arena is looking like a spiritual successor to Soul Calibur
It has a playtest recently, It might get a second playtest in the upcoming Steam Next Fest in June.

The people who say that often don't consider the fact that most DLC is redundant. So, you have a costume pack that you can buy. Now, you can also buy that costume for a specific character too, if you don't want to buy it for everyone in that pack, which inflates the price.

Edit:
Removed an error I made with crossplay compatiblity.
