In Josh's case you do that at your peril. Not because the CIs themselves will do anything, but because the agencies they are informing for won't put up nicely with having their rats get outed. I'm content on Tor, and since the Dong-Missing-Consent-Accident abuse began it's been the only way I access the site anyways. Considering Null's frustrations that users aren't taking the DMCA risk seriously, moving to Tor by default is the best available option to mitigate that risk for users (ignoring the DDOS problem entirely).

If Tor's builtin DDOS protection is also more resilient than anything he can get on clearnet, even better. I don't want to see clearnet surrendered to the tranny hordes either, but Tor has so many upsides here that it's practically superior in every way except accessibility and performance.

It's the difference between a normal API which hits a database and generates JSON vs a static approach which just pre-builds each JSON payload and pushes it out as static files that can be hosted directly on cheap static hosts. The data is consumed in a very similar way but the server backing it is fundamentally different.
A primarily dynamic server (like KF and most websites) has a much easier time processing dynamic information but has to be more heavily guarded from the public from attacks like DDoS which aim to exploit that server, usually using something like CloudFlare among other tools.
A primarily (or at least partially) static file server takes all the code load off of the server which mitigates the server load aspect of a DDoS and you can optimize it extremely aggressively because static files are more of a solved problem- the downside being it's a wild west undocumented nightmare to actually implement bits of necessary dynamic content in a way that doesn't compromise the whole point by using some SaaS slop.
The goal would effectively be to make the ability to read KF as hard to take down as a simple static site even when the dynamic parts get taken down, and then those dynamic parts can be guarded more aggressively without compromising readability.

To call making a forum software that blends mostly statically pre-built content for reading with the type of dynamic auth, permissions, and writes required by any average forum while avoiding a dependence on any single SaaS infra you can get banned from "only technically possible" is still generous, even in the age of AI coding, mostly due to how nobody sane has any reason to touch the trade-offs with a 10 foot pole when they can just stand up a normal site behind CloudFlare so nobody's really done it before. Nonetheless, as I see all other doors close for a pariah site like KF this normally-unreasonable path becomes slightly more viable in comparison.
If I were to try to plan a way to get this project built and supported, the only way I can think of making it work is going open-source with an emphasis on allowing anyone to host their own ultra-resilient forum in spite of restrictions. Pitching yourself as a valuable tool to "allow oppressed people to circumvent the big guy and speak freely" is a strong way to generate good will and support to the point where it's possible even an association with Kiwi Farms can be overlooked by potential contributors and supporters, especially when it's emphasized KF is practically the one ideal use case currently with how blacklisted and under attack it is.
Even then, I imagine someone would really need to get the ball rolling and build a real proof-of-concept before others would consider hopping on because in tech this kind of dynamic-on-a-static-site architecture is pretty much considered schizobabble in my experience.

Based. For anyone on Android you can just use Orbot. It's safe it's literally made by the Tor project. It works like a VPN but over Tor. Just turn it on and you can connect to onion sites in any browser of your choice. Just like any other site. You can even have the VPN connection only apply to certain apps (like the browser) if you don't want the entirety of the traffic on your phone going through tor when you have it on.

No that won't help because the sheer volume of requests is overwhelming the upstream providers even before it gets to the Farms.

But I do know we always have lurkers and "guests" here and maybe we don't need to most of the time.

Just as an interesting note... right now even with only Tor available, we have more guests than users accessing the site. And it's a pretty healthy number overall (although tbh I'd prefer 1488 not 1388 ).

While I empathize with the plight of this website being the only one in the world unable to enjoy basic Internet services, I can't exactly say that I don't understand the point of view of the rest of the Internet. I can't even say I disagree with them. The "information maximalism" philosophy that governs this website has completely ruined its reputation. Any good it has done by shining a light on pedophiles and politicians, any usefulness it has demonstrated as an aggregate for information on wars, natural disasters, and politics, any joy it has brought people as a discussion forum, as a community, all of that was put at risk by the autistic determination to allow users here to dox random people on the Internet with impunity.

You can go into any thread dedicated to a wider population of people and see KF users doxing people just for the "crime" of using a social media platform that the KF user doesn't like, or for being a fan of an e-celeb that the KF user finds annoying. Yes it's technically legal, yes all of that information was already public somewhere, but all information is public now. Information Security was a rare privilege enjoyed only by a small subset of people in the early 2000s. We rely on Information Obscurity now, the idea that our information is safe only because no one bothers to look for it amidst the deluge of data that exists. It is the act of unearthing and cataloguing that personal information that is the abhorrent slight against civil Internet society. By encouraging the doxing of anyone for any reason, Kiwi Farms does not return its shopping carts. Null knows this. That's why he begged people to stop using the word "dox", and why the site had that entire arc of trying to rehabilitate its image by threatening litigation against its slanderers. He knows that public support and widespread acceptance is the only way that Kiwi Farms survives, and yet for some reason or another, whether Null got wrapped up in trying to deal with technical upkeep or development or he just stopped caring, that effort stopped shortly after it started.

The fact is that people will never accept the Kiwi Farms as long as one of its core tenets is to dox random fucking bystanders with impunity. The site has been hiding behind 1A for most of its existence, but people will kill 1A out of spite just to make this barbaric nigger behavior stop. They're already trying to.
