It can be interpreted as gods being as powerful as the amount of people that believe or know of them. A lot know the Greek gods and thus they are really powerful but if those who know them die, they weaken.

The big thing he didn't consider is that the point of a new Minions movie is to sell a new line of merch and that stuff always sells, Universal will make a billion just off of the T-Shirts tied to this movie. Also the heatwave this weekend has I lot of people staying home, I only left the house to go to work and all the businesses, including my local movie theater were empty, that wasn't the case last weekend.

Then it flips Superman on his ass, because then he isn't even close to the strongest of the fuckers roaming Earth when he's presented like he's one of the pinnacles around, if Ares or Hades can smack the taste out of his mouth he's nothing special, which they absolutely present him that he is.

Whereas when they present someone strong in Marvel, its undeniable, even if they boost someone later, like Jubilee, they caveat it, but someone like The Sentry is pretty much top tier, remains top tier, and is held back by his various flaws, they don't wobble his power level around other characters like they do Superman, which is ironic as The Sentry is supposed to be the mentally ill expy of Superman for Marvel.

Wow, that Moviebob guy is so informative. It's a load of crap that some sweaty, fat Yankee is still so interested in someone else's life, even though he's not a "Lolcow." I can understand that "I was unfair" to what happened to Gunn, but what they asked for was "to cancel those who make dangerous jokes," I mean, pedophilia jokes, because children are sacred and all that.

Yes, he's ignoring that to say that "It was always successful and the critics are hypocrites," ignoring the simple fact that both films had very different budgets. Don't even bother me with that, Fat Moviebob. If there was a message telling them that what he's doing is lying by ignoring an important fact, he might jump to attack him because "He defends pedophilia and genocide."

Superman is really strong and can defeat someone like Ares (he has been defeated by mortals) but Zeus is another deal. The older Olympians are stronger. Zeus more so.

This is true, my only gripe has been inconsistency, and boring villains and their shit powers, hell most of the OG DC hero's have pretty boring powers too, boring powers are fine when depicted well, Jotaro's stand just punched shit (and then stopped time later, so he can punch shit in stopped time) but he's compelling for w/e reason.

Superman is held back by the writer, and the writer always changes, I've given props to Marvel in this thread lately, but this is misleading, Marvel has some of the wildest writer switchups ever, and in the last 20 years has completely sunk their brand in terms of comics, as they are all written by Troons and weirdo's now.

God, I have to say it, people probably think Goku is stronger than Superman for one reason: Superman's limitations are essentially the writers. Even though there are relatively few villains who would have given him trouble with the basic powers of a "generic Superman," for me, it would be somewhat "unfair." Goku only had "generic" enemies from the Frieza arc onward, where everyone started using laser beams, just throwing punches and kicks in the air, and doing the occasional Spirit Bomb. I mean, it took a goat to prevent the fight from being reduced to just "more power." With Superman, there was more variety in the fights beyond the "Dragon Ball battle," like Lex Luthor, Toy Maker, and when he fights Batman occasionally.

Now I feel like with all this support for minorities in an imaginary "genocide" because of "empathy"—because they can't take it out on the minorities who don't want to buy their "normie" comics and instead consume things like "for trolls"—but hey, they blame the audience for not caring about the political message and blame them because "they're bad" for not taking seriously a piece of crap that was only made to say "trans rights"—I mean, what was the problem in the first place?

They'll compare Superman to elements of "Toon Force" right now because that also happens, but it seems more reasonable to compare him to Goku, since they say Goku can destroy the planet with a Kamehameha.

Goku is stronger because he continuously scales, and at some point he has to have out scaled wherever Superman essentially eternally parks his ass in power, the few definitive ways to define Goku's current power put him able to destroy the entire Universe in a sustained conflict, and rivaling the Multiverses destruction God's who are basically just below God God and his Angels.

This is essentially the same as if Superman had to fight full power Anti-Monitor trying to destroy Universes with all its might.. and actually not just stalemating, but pushing back against his destructive universal ending force, and winning, something Superman basically always needs a team up with multiple Universes version of characters to do.

Regardless, Goku isn't that high on the insane anime powerscaling, all he has is incredible overwelming force and techniques, top tier Anime powers usually give some sort of ontological force multiplier where they can ignore or twist some version of reality completely and totally, on top of all the pure power, and is why anime "powers" are more compelling than "I'm really really really strong, fast and shoot lasers because of Yellow Sun energy that somehow converts a regular strength human into a God while juiced in it with zero work on my own part".
 
I remember when Superman came back from Warworld, and he was able to teleport back to Earth after Lex teleported him to some faraway galaxy as well as dismantle Lex's armor with a touch while saying he was stronger than he ever was before. He never did anything like that again afterwards, it was back to the usual powerset lol. Did the Warworld arc have any consequences besides introducing those 2 adopted kids that I really don't care about? I know right now Superman is doing some meaningless story in the Book of El about future stuff related to that arc (and Future State?) but it seems like it doesn't matter to the main timeline.
 
Watching The Batman for the first time since 2022 and the actors need to learn to speak up. How am I supposed to follow the plot when I can't hear a single word of dialog?! Modern actors need to learn to speak up, part of their job is to be heard!

We need a return of trained stage actors who know how to speak up and project their voices leading movies.

I like the look and feel of the movie but it didn't need to be a three hour epic, it should have just been a 90 minute Batman vs. Riddler movie.

Oh and who stole Catwoman's boobs?

I have eaten sandwiches that weigh more than this Catwoman, am I supposed to believe she can beat someone up in a fight?

Why doesn't The Riddler look like The Riddler?

I forgot how good the car chase was in this one, may be the best chase ever in a Batman movie.

I liked Jeremy Irons Alfred better.

Matt Reeves direction is amazing.

The way the Gotham police burst into a room reminds me of the Blues Brothers.

I don't believe some college girl would be able to stand up to the mob and clean up Gotham as mayor.

Batman is too emotion driven in this movie.

So stunning and brave to make a movie with the message that all white men are demons and only the pereft black girl bosses can save the world from them.

What kind of Batman is afraid of hights and has to be saved from a handful of thugs by Catwoman?

This is the dumbest Batman I have ever seen, and the most woke.

Movies this long need an intermission.

A good director can't save a bad script and worse casting.

I have said it before and I will say it again, most DC reboots projects I see, included fan made ones, are doomed to fail because everyone that tries to, just wants the DC universe to cater to their own tastes. Including all the things they don't care about.

Few people know how to be team players. And in a universe as vast as DC, it's impossible for one single person to write all of it at the same time with quality.

Ares also suffers from most of his myths coming from Athens and they basically were the waifu fags. In Greek myth he effectively is there to hype up someone or to be beaten because Athena, some demigod with the favor of another god, or Zeus decides to intervene.

I feel like the better subversion would be “Ares” is either a demigod or Deimos/ Phobos. The actual Ares is Mars and effectively is less like the Greek myth and more the Roman. You could have him be either Mars Quirinus or Mars Pater to the Amazons. Basically the Amazon’s actually have the Roman view of shit. You could even have them repeat the Ovid myth despite most myths having Ares be the oldest of Zeus’s progeny by Hera and older than Athena because at least one myth has Ares active against the Titans.

You could factor the Amazons being immortal due to the sister of Ares, Hebe, being on the island if you are going to lean into myth.

The original Wonder Woman shit is weird because it is literally fetish material. Like the lasso of truth is Marston’s bondage fetish mixed with his ego about inventing the polygraph (lie detector). Also his lesbian fetish and trying to fuck co-eds by being a male feminist.

You could say that there is a bias towards Athena but half of Greece was allied with Sparta for a long period. As such, there has been people who could push back. It is worth mentioning that while Mars is associated with Ares, they were originally different gods. The Mars we know is a fusion of the original Mars and Ares. For one, Mars is a god of farmers and Ares-worshipping city-states in Greece looked down upon the profession. They saw it as necessary but not something a warrior should do. If I were to find differences between Mars and Ares, Mars is a god of soldiers and Ares is a god of warriors.

That is nearly as bad as Joker 2 81.3% drop in it's second week. However Joker 2 opened to $77 million over seas, which Supergirl didn't. So breaking $200 million is now a dream for Supergirl looking at that drop.

With numbers like this, expect them to fast track VoD, to get a bit extra money while it is somewhat in peoples minds.
