I'm going to make an assumption here: Gunn did the casting couch with her.
She wanted to get into writing, he wanted a fucktoy.
How else could you explain that an attractive woman who never wrote anything got to write not only Supergirl but she's also writing a Wonder Woman movie and a Teen Titans movie?
I think theres also a huge talent drought. You would have to be clinically insane to want to work for hollywood, in california of all states knowing all the scandal, vitriol and filth that goes on there.

It's the idea of Supergirl. It isn't Supergirl. It's a deconstruction. Don't worry the idea of wonder woman will also be the best screenplay Gunn has ever read.

It's easy to be the best screenplay someone has ever read when that person can't read, just put a pretty picture on the cover.

That's bullshit.
Gunn could hire any comic book writer ever, all of them would love to write for a big budget DC movie.
Yet for some reason, he hired a woman who looks like this:

Writing for a comic doesn't translate to being able to write for a screenplay. Theres exceptions but those aren't the norm. I'd also love to add that a majority of comic writers these days are also terrible, even if they were good at one point.

So the alternative is to hire an unknown hot actress who isn't a writer as the writer for several big budget movies?

This is a clear example of the casting couch.

Since when is geeting paid millions to run a major film studio while banging hot actresses not the smart option?

If Warner Brothers wants to pay Gunn to have sex with hot chicks that is their mistake.
Its not smart in the longterm when Supergirl inevitably bombs or like his other projects have been doing. Gunn's a short-term nepotism guy like 99% of people in corporate positions or like children who think lying to cover up eaten cookies won't backfire on them later in the day.

You all think if and when Gunn gets the boot, Paramount will reboot DC again? Or will they do standalone films like Dark Knight trilogy for a while?

If and when Superman 2 either outright bombs or barely breaks even while The Batman 2 will be one of the highest grossing movies of the year, they will kick out Gunn and stick with the Pattinson led universe.

They already had a huge hit with The Penguin, Clayface might do OK as well and that one clearly fits way more into The Batman than the DCU, they can just keep it going.
They're introducing Two-Face in The Batman 2 so giving him a TV show seems like the logical next step.
Paramount has Taylor Sheridan working for them regularly, he can make that show.

They will just keep Pattison Batman and maybe allow DC animation to expand, particularly the My Adventures-verse. Would be a massive waste not to just pump out some cartoons for their children's networks seeing how consistently successful they are. There is supposedly a new direct-to-DVD universe coming soon, so that will likely take shape and survive under Paramount. I really hope they allow things to expand past Batman though. My Adventures, for all its faults, has made lesser touched upon parts of DC get popular, would love to see them continue with Green Lantern, maybe Flash or Wonder Woman.

My Adventures With Plastic Man could be an awesome kids show.

What the fuck was WB smoking by casting Milly Alcock when they have a working relationship with Sydney Sweeney?
Sydney Sweeney would've been too "right wing coded" for the redditverse they're trying to build. Do you really envision Sydney Sweeney alongside the Republican murdering reddit robot, or reddit Lex Luthor/his reddit monkeys? Or the wholesome chungus gay adoptive father reddit Batman whose already established with 20 Robins?

Paramount also has a stake in Watchmen since they co-produced and distributed Synder’s film. IIRC, Paramount held the rights to make the film until the rights reverted to WB but since they invested $7 million in the film, Paramount retained international rights to the film and a 25% stake.

They even coproduced the HBO series back in 2019 and the two part animated adaptation that came out in 2024.
