Still, they somehow managed to make Crisis on Infinite Earths — THE comic event — feel mid at best. The fact that most people only cared about the classic cameos, like Kevin Conroy’s Batman, while barely anyone cared about losing the Tomorrowverse characters as the universe rebooted yet again, says everything about how forgettable the whole thing ended up being.
i watched only those movies and felt like i missed absolutely nothing
It's been loosely adapted like three or four times I think? None of them are good and none of them acknowledge each other. Apparently there are an infinite number of infinite multiverses that can all individually collapse so I guess my headcanon is as valid as any nonsense DC officially acknowledges.
having read the original comic book story a long time ago out of sheer curiosity, it really wasn't that good to begin with
it was like the avenger's movie: only good because of the novelty of bringing everyone together for a big thing

Only Barry's death really left an impact from him still trying to run while literally melting into dust.

I miss Supersons.

Before they ruined Superman's son that was the last time I enjoyed reading a US produced comic book.
The worst part about them hitting Jon Kent with the gayray isnt even him being gay, its his boyfriend being an obnoxious mary sue with a HIDEOUS design. Even a woke person cant root for this relationship for any reason other than it being gay.

I know the Authority isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but at least both Apollo and Midnighter had good designs (in the Wildstorm stuff not current DC).

Only time I didn’t want to kill myself reading gay characters, so naturally they became insufferable in the DC universe.

they were essentially two straight guys mashed together
what liberals liked to pretend gay people are before it turned out all those faggot stereotypes were real

Hell, Jon isnt even the worst example. Look at what they gave gay black aqualad to work with

Why add all these gay relationships if the love interest is always someone even most fujoshis couldnt make themselves care about?? Even they typically cant suspend their belief THIS much, seeing these hunky superheroes next to their 'lovers' is downright comical. Ive even seen them ask for Jon and Jackson to leave their uggo boyfriends to go date eachother instead.

Speaking of which. I find it interesting that the DC animated movie universe established a relationship between Damian and Raven ten years ago, yet there has been little to no development of that dynamic in the comics since then.

Because people want Raven to be with BB. I understand why: BB is a golden retriever in a (sometimes) human body. Damian is as brooding as Raven. I can see what would attract her to both but I find BB far less likely to let someone wallow in self-pity.
This pairing, to me, always felt like a consolation prize for those who shipped Raven and Robin (Dick Grayson) because of the main arc in the Teen Titans fourth season.

I never saw anything happening with them. Brooding people need someone to get them out of their self-pity cycles. It was even shown in that episode where Raven summoned the dragon. The dragon groomed and isolated her by being everything she wanted but she was saved by what she needed (even though she didn't think she wanted it). Dick, as nice and goofy as he can be sometimes, is too similar to Raven to get her out of her funk.

I don’t think Raven and BB was too popular with anybody except fans of the old show which is why DC kept pairing them off with other random people with barely a peep of protest. And I don’t think they officially got together in the show either although I haven’t seen it for years. I do know that DC aged Raven down in the comics to pair her up with Beast Boy at one point when the show was still being broadcast.

DC wants to have their cake and eat it too.

Fujoshis only want characters to be gay due to a particular pairing they like, which DC is fully unwilling to commit too. I think they just take the lesser popular character and make them gay as a consolation prize to act like they care. Tim Drake is a good example as his ass got booted to lowest rank Robin after Jason came back and Damian got pushed. He was an easy target for the gay ray, but DC didn’t want to fully commit to fujoshis who only wanted gay Robin because Superboy was end game in their canon.

Jon seems to be getting a similar fate. The only reason to make the super son gay would be if Damian was end game, but because Damian is too mainstream, they won’t commit.

For all the problems that lesbian Harley brought, at least DC was smart enough to understand Ivy was the only reason anyone cared. They cannot seem to hold that mentality for all these new age characters they keep gayifying.

Edit: A big reason why they won’t follow Fujos is also DC’s persistent brand solidarity that forbids their crossover universe from crossing over too much. They don’t want a Bat project to be dragged down by Super lore just to explain the super powered teen pegging Robin.

The show has kept the Titans on life support for two decades, so may as well be the definitive version by now. 03 never had BBRae be a thing, fans just took to it because Raven was often paired up with Beast Boy and Cyborg, which lead to BB having a good sum of emotional moments with her. The follow up, TTG was the thing that made it canon, hilariously enough, only furthering the fandom.

Nowadays, no one gives a shit about Titans comics because, duh… In saying this, pretty much every big normie title, like the Raven book by Kamie Garcia, always pairs them together. TV shows likewise also always go that direction between Titans and TTG. The DCAMU is really the only unique case where there is a switch up.

Funnily enough Tim Drake x Bernard apparantly actually had a dedicated Fujo fandom based on Bernards 1 very limited appearance in the 2000s. But when they made them actually date they lobotimised tf out of Bernards smarmy jackass personality so much that even the fujos didnt like him anymore even if hes one of the less ugly gay love interests. This dude literally doesnt do anything but stand there and be gay. Which is extra damning when modern Tim Drake is already pretty boring himself.

Similar with Jon Kent, in a 1-off comic he had a male thief (catwoman style kinda) he had to work with named Ash or smth, and people liked him way better with Jon because of some actual chemistry and him not being as ugly as mr pink hair. Which was in a large part bc that 1 comic was written by a professional fujo author and not just some rando.

So these inner-franchise pairings COULD work to at least some demographics, theyre just being horribly written and designed to appeal to no one too for no good reason.

Both Ash and OG Bernard worked as entertaining enough friend/platonic characters first and foremost which is why people wanted to see them as love interests, while Jay and modern Bernard make bad friend characters, let alone love interests.

Id guess the butler lady is gonna be one of batmans kids love interests rather than for Bruce himself. Is Damian close to adulthood yet or nah?
Wait I also just remembered that in a recent comic in an alternate/fake/whatever future world Damien has a blue eyed son named Alfred...

1000116806.jpg 1000116805.jpg

So blue eyed (as far as I can tell) butler lady whos almost definitely a pennyworth might ACTUALLY be getting set up as a Damien love interest. Aight, I mean as long as the age gap isnt too bad it would at least be something memorable/important and her design is not-ugly enough for her to stick around for a while? Would help set him apart from his siblings at least.

It has shocked me how hard they've been pushing Damian as a heterosexual. You would've thought that he would've been the first character they LGBT'd up. But, no, he's been the one with the straight hookups across media. Hope they don't write off Flatline as a character. She and Damian had good chemistry.

I meant Bruce. It feels like they've just gutted the entire premise of Batman because being rich and having a manor and a butler is problematic and they don't want him working with the police.
The thing is that they can probably do what ever they feel like in the new Batman comics because nobody gives a shit about them.

You can just go to a random place with DC fans in the internet like reddit and ask Batman fans what to read and they will near universally recommend you decades old stuff like TDKR, Long Helloween, Knightfall or whatever.

Supposedly, this new Batman is meant to be a fresh start for new readers... But those will be aware of the classic preconceptions of Batman (aka he's rich, has a mansion and a butler), but there's been too many changes that makes it weird to read, even for newcomers. Oh, and of course woke faggotry starting as soon as issue 2, but of course.

I think I saw something about Vandal Savage becoming police commissioner instead of Jim Gordon, another character heavily associated with the Caped Crusader.

Recently I saw a poster for Supergirl, and while I reserve the right to repeat it again, and while I feel guilty of saying this, the elephant in the room is that the actress they hired to be Supergirl is too ugly to be Supergirl.

Even the actress, that Is not even a blond girl, that they hired for the flash movie looks better than her.

I feel like Gunn's nepotism will bite him in the ass this time.
