You can get a whole ass tub put in for $1k, including the tub. Maybe if the plumber had to rip off the surround to get at the pipes or something I could see it being $1k with a new surround including install, plus the shower head. But his condo would have to be decrepit for the plumbing to be that far gone.

It took her literally less than half an hour. What a couple of useless slugs the two of them are, living in that house doing nothing and paying top dollar for every minor inconvenience from going out and getting their own food to minor household repairs.

Its really just baffling, phil has slowly built up the idea that he absolutely NEEDS one day a week to just go out and splurge with a bunch of money. Like dude you're begging for cash to pay your mortgage and other bills while admitting you expect to out to eat multiple times on your day off while doing frivolous shopping for who knows what exactly. Why exactly does he need all this money to spend in one day?

He's even stated stuff like he can't enjoy a day of with his wife unless they're out spending cash.

Its just funny how the begging has evolved from needing to save his house and pay his taxes to now he needs a weekly shopping spree. Like if theres a hierarchy of what people spend money on, phil has gone from begging for basic necessities to begging for luxury items.

Did anyone ever cross-reference the amount he's estimated to have earned for 2021 with the spending on his debit account to see if it aligned or if there was a 'hole'? That would tell us if he has another account. Also, iirc you can spend money that's been tipped to your Paypal account without moving it into your debit, and this wouldn't show up on bank records, which could also account for the hole as much as another account.

A phrase I've heard about electricians goes something like "It costs $10 for a replacement electrical part, and $90 for the knowledge of how to install it". I'm sure I've got that somewhat wrong but it really is the knowledge you're paying for when you hire handymen.

If the plumber is smart, he'll tell Phil that the part(s) needed to fix the problem are no longer produced and pad the bill with a bunch of costs to cover having to reacquire something that probably costs less than a buck or two at Home Depot. Phil, being Phil, wouldn't even question it because he simply doesn't want to be bothered with the problem anymore and is so anti-social he'll do it just to talk to the plumber less.

Yeah, as it stands Phil's actual legitimate costs are "manageable" in that he's only making minimum payments on anything he can. He's literally blown more money on long-term deferred debts as opposed to more up front and being done with it, simply to have more cash in hand now to do sweaty man gacha and perpetual home delivery of food.

If something TRULY comes along to fuck up the delicate and deteriorating balance that is the Gout Finances, like say Jasper develops some serious medical problems that needs attention from the vet, Phil is going to be perpetually clenching his ass into the next dimension as he worries about having enough money to even make single gacha pulls over keeping the cat (which he doesn't even give a damn about) healthy.

Look, I'm no handyman either. I'm pretty inept at fixing things around the house and that's why we have plumbers and electricians and mechanics because that's how society works. I pay these people for their knowkedge/skills to fix things I'd be unable to. To Phil though, he pushes this nonsense that all repairs he gets price-gouge him ten-fold just to milk as much money from his paypigs as possible.

Don't forget, he said repairing a flat tire cost him $500 and then the leaks showed he paid $30. This is just another tried and true begging tactic.
