Phil seems to be more at home and at peace in Connecticut. He knows the history of these establishments, prefers the food there, his support system lives close by. This is what I keep trying to get through to fuckwits like King Jezal who see nothing wrong with subsidizing his life of luxurious slothfulness...you're crippling him. The best thing for Phil would be to have no other choice but to move back to the CT condo.
I also believe he really does not want to face Rambo and Howard again because they knew him before he was DarksydePhil and can see through all his bravado and bullshit. Phil strikes me as an incredibly insecure individual who knows he's stabbed people in the back and isn't man enough to own up to it.
It may or may not be John and Howard, but there is obviously some insecurity keeping him from moving back to Conneticut, the taxes excuse just does not hold water at this point. It could just be that it is a physical representation of going backwards in life which mean these last 5 or so years haven't been as positive as he likes to play up. Phil loves to play it both ways. His streams are the best they have ever been, he has grown into a more positive person, and people are jealous of him "making bank." At the same time life is shit, he is all alone, and can't afford to turn on the heat or he will lose his house. Taking that step back confirms all the negatives and voids all the positives.
